Your main role:

The title of this position is commensurate with experience. This position reports to the Head of School and currently co-manages the Marketing Associate + interns (management is also commensurate with experience).

  • Strategy
    • Identify/track key performance indicators based on the organization’s objectives
    • Ensure consistent communication & oversee adherence to branding and corporate identity
    • Coordinate means to seek regular input from the school’s key constituencies
    • Help formulate and administer policies to ensure the integrity of the school is maintained
  • Content & Design
    • Oversee editorial direction, art direction, and design for KLS
    • Build/distribute concise and meaningful stories out of complex information
    • Lead writing, editing, proofreading, and revision process for communications
    • Lead graphic design and multimedia production for KLS
    • Responsible for digital & print content, collateral/swag, and publications
  • Internal Community & Communications
    • Create school newsletters, communications, and materials
    • Ensure consistent, authentic, and aligned team communications
    • Manage the Parent Portal, Directory, and calendar feeds
    • Coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance, and resource materials to assist departments in the marketing, communications, and positioning of their activities
    • Serve as a lead parent liaison and communication support person
    • Record minutes during various meetings
  • External Community & Public Relations
    • Act as the school’s representative for the press, coordinating media interest in the school and ensuring regular contact with target media
    • Manage the school website, including the blog and SEO
    • Lead digital strategy, content creation, and optimization for social media channels
    • Manage email marketing and digital outreach
    • Deliver educational/promotional presentations and speeches
  • Development
    • Create campaign collateral for fundraising and capital campaigns, including design of reports, requests, and acknowledgments
    • Ghostwrite appeals, acknowledgment letters, etc.
    • Ensure fundraising materials adhere to corporate identity
  • Marketing Analytics
    • Manage overall campaign metrics through use of dashboards & data, i.e. Google Analytics
    • Evaluate and monitor progress of website & social media KPIs
    • Determine and execute best practices for email marketing growth
    • Leverage data to make decisions that drive growth
    • Promote progress on key metrics in creative and accessible ways

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • In-depth experience working in marketing and communications
  • Passion for education and collaborating with teachers and students
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency with a variety of technology platforms, especially Adobe Creative and Google Suite
  • Extremely organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills
  • Ability to form empathetic, friendly relationships of mutual trust with students, team members, and parents
  • Positive outlook in all respects
  • High level of professionalism, including a high level of cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, and exemplary interpersonal skills

  • Four or more years of experience working in digital marketing and communications
  • School and/or nonprofit leadership experience
  • Graphic design expertise
  • Website management and blogging background

  • School admissions experience
  • Experience with managing expectations of demanding stakeholders
  • Experience writing on behalf of an organization
  • Event planning skills
  • Experience formulating strategic plans for school improvement
