Marketing and Communications Specialist

OpenStax - Houston, Texas - Full time

The Marketing and Communications Specialist II is a key OpenStax team member who helps drives sustainability efforts for OpenStax. Working with over 50 for-profit partners, the Marketing and Communications Specialist II will plan, develop, and execute metrics-driven strategic marketing initiatives to increase usage of OpenStax Ally products. The Marketing and Communications Specialist II will also coordinate the marketing team’s email efforts, working with the marketing team to build and test automated drip campaigns, as well as plan, develop, test, and execute email sends to various lists that support marketing efforts for all OpenStax products.

Job functions

OpenStax Ally Marketing. Works with over 50 partner companies, OpenStax Allies, to plan, develop, and executive metrics-driven strategic marketing initiatives to increase usage of OpenStax Ally products. Promotes OpenStax Ally joint offerings at trade shows, through webinars, social media, and public relations efforts. Ensures brand compliance among partners; regularly monitors partner content on OpenStax.org and ensures it’s up to date and correct; monitors Google Analytics for partner-related initiatives to determine the success of campaigns. Works with the assistant director of marketing and communications on OpenStax.org initiatives to increase OpenStax Ally product usage and lead generation

Email & General Marketing. Coordinates the organization’s email efforts. Works with the marketing and communications team to contribute to the development of marketing strategies for OpenStax products and services, and leads the developing, testing, sending, and reporting email efforts. Fulfills general marketing and communications duties to support the team as assigned.
