Learn more about Braven’s impact:

Braven was named one of America’s Best Startup Employers 2022 by Forbes! We’re proud to be a nonprofit organization that values its employees and has always been committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace that mirrors our country.

In order to achieve its ambition of serving 40,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven must scale our national, virtual Professional Mentor Program while maintaining high quality so that it can continue to be a key strategic lever in Braven’s “North Star” goal of 65% of students securing a strong first job within 6 months of graduation.

Braven’s Professional Mentor (PM) Program is a bi-annual, 12-week virtual mentoring program that supports over 300 Braven Fellows. The PM Program is expected to grow 10-15% each program cycle. As the “face” of the Professional Mentor Program, both internally to Braven and externally to mentors and mentees, you will lead all program recruitment and execution, while ensuring positive experience for participants.

What you’ll do:

Program Recruitment, Execution, and Delivery

  • Recruit students and build excitement about the PM Program
  • Project manage logistics for regional staff and interns to meet national recruiting goals each program cycle
  • Manage and execute program delivery by creating strong 1:1 mentorship matches, communicating with stakeholders (internal and external), handling all program logistics, and training staff members on program launch
  • Build a sense of community for program participants by delivering mid-program events, during program communications, conducting 1:1 meetings, and fostering virtual networking opportunities

Data analysis and continuous improvement

  • Own and improve program KPIs, working closely with a analyst, to ensure strong outcomes and stakeholder experience in the program
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify and prioritize strengths and areas to improve the program, so it can continue to grow

Staff Onboarding and Documentation

  • Execute onboarding and training sessions about the PM program for Braven staff
  • Design and maintain program documentation to codify best practices and ensure programmatic continuity

Qualifications and skills

You are bringing experiences and strengths like these:

  • You have 1-3 years of experience in program management, product operations, community management, or customer success management. We’re less concerned with job titles you’ve held and are more interested in the skills you bring.
  • You are a strong written and verbal communicator.
  • You have a demonstrated commitment to operational excellence, creating and following through on project plans with strong attention to detail and deadlines
  • You have demonstrated an ability to gain buy-in from many stakeholders and have experience working cross-functionally, ideally having partnered closely with tech or data specialists.
  • You are a data-driven decision maker who can set and measure effective KPIs and analyze data for actionable insights.
  • You are comfortable with modern tech platforms (ie - Asana, GSuite, Slack, Zoom, Salesforce)
  • You exercise good judgment in navigating ambiguity, helping bring clarity and proactively pushing work forward that may fall outside of your formal job description.
  • You have a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
  • You exemplify Braven’s core values
  • Your experiences have informed your belief in Braven’s mission and the value of mentorship and have prepared you to work with, or for, Braven’s student Fellow population

The following experience is a plus!

  1. You have at least 1-3 years of experience with a proven track record of managing complex projects and producing results that are data-driven and grounded in DEIJ.
  2. Experience using Salesforce and marketing automation platforms

Please know that few applicants meet 100% of the qualifications. If much of this describes you, we encourage you to apply.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work in-person in Atlanta (GA), Chicago (IL), Newark (NJ), or New York City (NYC)
  • Some weekend work required to support programming and run trainings
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and have received the Booster vaccination against COVID-19 and provide proof of such by the date of hire. Individuals may claim exemption from the vaccine requirement for medical or religious reasons. Exempted individuals will be subject to weekly testing if they engage in any in-person work activities.

Braven offers competitive base salaries based on the midpoint of the market among not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with opportunities for salary growth over time. We believe in compensating staff members fairly in relation to each other, their qualifications, and their impact on behalf of the organization, and take internal and external equity seriously. Given our commitment to equity, Braven does not negotiate salary offers; instead each salary offer is determined carefully using external and internal benchmarking. You will have an opportunity to discuss salary in more detail after you begin the application process.

When social distancing is not in place, we gather in the office three days a week. Therefore, we will require this teammate to live within commuting distance of one of these 4 hubs: Chicago, New York City, Newark, and Atlanta. Each teammate can use two flex days of their choosing per week to work remotely. We believe in the magic, connection, and collaboration that happens when people work together face-to-face and we believe in giving people flexibility to focus, balance personal priorities, and save themselves two commutes per week.

Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Braven, we are committed to attracting, engaging, developing, and retaining a diverse team. Braven operates in the context of our American culture, against the backdrop of systemic racism and oppression of marginalized people since our country’s founding. We are committed to assembling leaders at our organization who have emerged from everywhere, with a particular emphasis on those who share the racial and income backgrounds of our Fellows, and creating an inclusive culture that allows all teammates, of all experiences and identities, to thrive.

Braven is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected factor. We encourage talented individuals of all backgrounds to apply.
