Manager, Product Research

Lexia Learning - Remote - Full time

Job Overview:

Lexia Learning is seeking a Manager of Product Research that is interested in delivering the highest quality literacy programs and best-in-class educational technology experiences. The Manager of Product Research will play a pivotal role in helping design and evolve Lexia's portfolio of programs. They will drive the product research agenda and maximize the impact of the team of product analysts and user researchers.

This team executes diverse quantitative and qualitative projects to provide insights and recommendations to internal teams, including survey programs, user testing studies, KPI monitoring dashboards, and statistical analyses of feature performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with all the product teams to understand their goals and direct team resources toward projects and initiatives that will maximize impact.
  • Manage a team of data analysts and user researchers.
  • Foster a culture of learning and teamwork that supports diversity, cohesiveness, and a sense of belonging.
  • Provide technical supervision and support to team members on research design, operations, analysis, presentation, and dissemination.
  • Ensure that research deliverables meet a high standard for quality.
  • Be accountable for both the management and execution of team research initiatives, ensuring that each project meets the needs of stakeholders, is completed on schedule, and that the results are error-free.
  • Own the documentation and dissemination of research findings to ensure knowledge management and promote evidence-based decision-making across the organization.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve product research tools and processes to ensure they are efficient, high quality, and scalable.

Job Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience designing and executing applied research, analytics, and/or evaluation projects using various methodologies and analytic techniques
  • Prior experience managing and mentoring a high-performing team of professionals
  • Master’s or PhD in educational research, statistics, data science, or related field preferred
  • Excellent and dynamic project management skills
  • Sufficient expertise with large, complex educational databases (SQL), data visualization (Tableau), qualitative research techniques (surveys, interviews, user testing studies), and statistical analysis/programming (R, Python) to provide technical guidance and supervision to team members
  • Ability to translate complex information into easy to understand data visualizations, insightful summaries, and data tools
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills, including communicating research in a way that is actionable for non-technical audiences
  • A high degree of business acumen and the ability to translate business challenges/needs into impactful research initiatives
  • Background in education and/or learning sciences preferred
  • Experience in machine learning/AI techniques (GLM/regression, clustering, decision tree learning, neural networks, etc.) preferred
