Manager, People Operations

BetterLesson - Remote - Full time

As the Manager of People Operations, you will lead our core HR functions and execution of employee programs and processes across the employee life cycle. This role is a member of the People Success team and reports to the SVP of People.

Here are some of the things you can expect to accomplish in this role:

  • Enhance scalable and effective core HR processes and systems in all employee life-cycle activities including onboarding, off-boarding, and compliance.
  • Support Annual Compensation Planning process and administration of compensation changes, including promotions.
  • Improve competitive total reward programs while managing costs and vendors that allow us to scale.
  • Plan and direct the implementation of all benefit plans including health, welfare, paid time off and leave of absence, 401(k) programs, including voluntary benefits programs.
  • Coordinate annual benefits renewal and contract process with the SVP of People, brokers and other external providers.
  • Oversee planning and implementing of open enrollment activities.
  • Partner with 401(k) plan administrators to manage the company retirement plan.
  • Evaluate, implement, and maintain payroll/HRIS systems information and accuracy, upgrades and changes.
  • Administer our leave and accommodations programs and processes.
  • Respond to and manage unemployment claims and workers compensation cases.
  • Lead all compliance initiatives including ensuring required filings (EEO, 1095, etc.), respond to claims, maintain employee files, and ensure Confluence pages and share drives are up-to-date.

About You

  • You have experience implementing and maintaining HR systems.
  • You have experience designing and managing total rewards programs within an organization, including health and welfare benefits, 401(k), and compensation programs.
  • You have knowledge of government regulations as they apply to benefit programs, compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
  • You’re comfortable in the fast-paced environment of a scaling start-up.
  • You are naturally curious and always want to know more and the why behind something.
  • You can manage multiple major projects/initiatives simultaneously all while staying on track.
