Manager of Strategic Initiatives

Position Summary

We are looking for a persuasive problem-solver to become our Manager of Strategic Initiatives. Under the general supervision and direction of the Executive Director, this role will execute ACE’s plan for fund development and communicate with stakeholders, as well as executing on ACE’s plan for fund development. The Manager of Strategic Initiatives will also provide high-level tactical, administrative, and operational support to the operations of ACE Charter Schools. The Manager of Strategic Initiatives will also often be responsible for project management, taking a task or initiative from start to completion with precision and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

Fund Development

  • Work with the Executive Director to ensure regular, high-quality communication with existing and prospective funders, ACE board, other key stakeholders.
  • Manage ongoing implementation and use of CRM to support fundraising and communications.
  • Maintain reporting and compliance for grants and other partnerships.
  • Research potential grant opportunities.
  • Write grant proposals.
  • Create collateral materials to share with prospective funders.

Communications

  • Manage communications with local and national stakeholders.
  • Development of text and other materials (written, slide deck, charts/graphs, etc.) for presentations, online presence, etc.
  • Collaborate with ACE staff, staff at partner organizations to ensure accuracy and coordination of work.
  • Support with planning and execution of fundraising events and presentations.

Special Projects

  • Manage projects as specified by ED to support specific initiatives for network or schools

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Mission-driven, with commitment to underserved students and families of East San Jose.
  • Experience with non-profit and/or charter school fundraising and strategy strongly preferred.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and act persuasively in sensitive situations.
  • Quickly evaluate complex issues and identify multiple viable options for resolution.
  • Strong consultation, listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong, persuasive writing skills.
  • Strong presentation development skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently to meet required deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, adaptable, ambitious.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

Salary and Benefits:

  • $75,000-$80,000 DOE
  • Full health benefits
  • 401k Retirement Plan
  • This position is EXEMPT.
