Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Achievement & Personalized Learning at Rocketship Education, the Manager of Operations and Strategic Projects will be responsible for: 

- Manage weekly flow of communication and information for Achievement Team, including planning for and facilitating key Achievement Team meetings, sharing notes and next steps. 

- Develop the biweekly team newsletter and represent the Achievement Team on planning and collaborative structures with other functional teams, such as school and regional start-up planning. 

- Independently manage large projects, including summer school leader & teacher professional development, report card preparation and distribution, charter writing and revisions, and curriculum procurement for each of our four regions. 

- Manage and direct the strategic planning process, which includes broader initiatives, department budgets, and comprehensive planning for each academic year by each subgroup of the Achievement Team, including analysis for and data presentation to a variety of audiences. 

- Inform and influence the Leadership Team about Achievement Team priorities, accomplishments, and opportunities to collaborate. 

- Build connections across teams and across the organization to develop understanding of shared goals, common needs, lessons learned, and recognition of collaboration and teamwork. 

- Organize and administer the program and project management systems, including communications updates and status reports, connected to the strategic planning process. 

- Monitor and report on the Achievement Team budget, which includes monthly alignment with Finance on actual spending to date, communication with team leads, and making adjustments accordingly. 

- Manage recruiting, selection, and onboarding process for key new hires. 

- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

A candidate must either possess the following experiences or exemplify proficiency in the following areas: 

- A bachelor’s degree 

- At least 5 years work experience in program management, consulting, operations, or related field with demonstrated record of high achievement 

- Experience working in a start-up, fast paced, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment 

- Demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly, succinctly and persuasively such that expectations are clear, timelines are delineated, and excellence is defined to senior leadership, peers, and school staff 

- Ability to manage multiple priorities across teams, organizing and prioritizing effectively to impact areas of greatest need, anticipate and address risks, and driving to achieve results 

- Experience organizing and running effective meetings and/or training sessions for adult learners 

- Ability to deconstruct complex problems and develop coherent, actionable strategies, using data presentation methods as appropriate
