BetterLesson's Learning Design Team develops effective, scalable, deep, and authentic learning experiences for educators. These learning experiences include Workshops, Learning Walks, Coaching, curated resources in the BetterLesson Lab, and our self-directed learning platform, BL Connect. We build a flexible ecosystem of learning opportunities, based on outcomes, with the goal of supporting educators in using student-centered practices to improve the learning experience for students.
The Manager of Learning Design: Literacy will support essential team-wide functions, interface with cross functional teams, and model strategic deep learning design processes. This position reports to Senior Manager, Learning Design
Here are some of the things you can expect to accomplish in this role:
- Design professional learning workshops, coaching, and coursework experiences using best practices in K-12 research and adult learning
- Stay up to date with latest trends, problems of practice, pain points in each priority Focus Area through regular discovery (i.e. interviews, surveys, reading)
- Develop and document clear, research-based pedagogical point of view for each priority Focus Area that includes outcomes professional learning is striving for.
- Produce quarterly reports that share trends, progress, and recommendations to inform future development
- Collaborate with Learning Designers and contractors to build instructional content resources to promote successful implementation of programs.
About You
- You specialize in:
- ELA Curriculum such as EL Education K-8;
- Student Centered Literacy Practices;
- Foundational Skills K-2; and/or
- The Science of Reading
- You may have a Masters degree in Literacy, Early Childhood, or related fields.
- You are fluent in adult learning theories and instructional design techniques.
- You have a portfolio of professional learning design materials.
- You have instructional coaching or literacy coordinator experience.
- You are skilled in analyzing complex data sets and integrating data as a part of your regular decision-making and communication processes.
- You are passionate about and eager to grow in matters related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
