Peer Health Exchange (PHE) is a national non-profit organization that empowers young people with the knowledge, skills, and resources to make healthy decisions. We do this by training college students to teach a robust skills-based health curriculum in under-resourced high schools across the country. Since our founding in 2003, we have trained more than 15,000 college student volunteers to deliver effective health education to almost 150,000 public high school students in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Washington, DC. In 2016, PHE launched a five-year strategic plan to focus on growing our effective model while partnering with health and education systems, as well as communities to build a more integrated, sustainable model for health education. As the Manager, E-Learning Design, you will build interactive online modules and digital learning materials for Peer Health Exchange’s program. You will also be responsible for configuring and supporting maintenance of online content in our Learning Management System (LMS). You will report to the Senior Manager, Design & Development.

This is a, full-time, salaried position located in any of our offices, though we are currently working remotely until further notice, given the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here’s what you will do as part of our team:

80% E-Learning Content Creation and Management

• Perform learner and needs analysis, in partnership with other members of the Programs & Strategic Learning, to identify skill gaps, key learning objectives, and map the e-learning journeys for high school and college students
• Consult with the National Partnerships Team, Sr. Director, Digital Products, and other key partners to define the demand for and tech capabilities associated with e-learning work
• Define, communicate, and project manage against the full scope of e-learning design and implementation, partnering with external vendors as needed
• Analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate compelling, interactive learning content for high school students and for PHE’s college volunteer training program, in partnership with the rest of the Programs & Strategic Learning Team
• Maintain knowledge of the latest trends, best practices, and methods as they relate to digital learning production, LMS development, and digital design.

20% Collaboration with Other PHE Teams

• Collaborate with the National Technology Team to assist in the development and implementation of our Learning Management System and serve as the go-to admin for configuring content within the system once it is set up
• Collaborate with the AVP, Program Strategy & Innovation and Director, Interactive Programs in raising the visibility of PHE’s digital impact work by participating in brand-building and media activities, attending conferences to present PHE’s work and network, joining fundraising pitches, and participating in partnership development research, calls, and trips as needed

What you'll bring to the table:

Minimum qualifications:

• Demonstrate a strong passion for PHE’s vision to advance health equity and improve health outcomes for young people; mission to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and resources to make healthy decisions; and a strong alignment with PHE’s core values of Health, Impact, Communication, Equity, and Agency.
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably with course work completed in instructional design, e-learning/learning technologies, measuring learning performance OR equivalent work experience
• 3-5 years' work experience, including 1-2 years in designing and delivering training interventions and/or student learning experiences, and managing complex projects to success
• Experience creating interactive e-learning content using SCORM-based authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (Rise, Storyline), Adapt, Adobe Captivate, etc.
• Experience creating interactive content using programs such as Articulate (Rise and Storyline), Adobe Creative Cloud
• Highly adept with technology, and quick to learn new technologies.
• Experience creating interactive content using programs such as Articulate (Rise and Storyline), Adobe Creative Cloud
• Demonstrated strength in technical writing
• Possesses excellent time management and prioritization skills
• Is attentive to detail and efficient in the management of diverse tasks

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with learning management specifications such as SCORM and xAPI
• Strongly preferred experience designing interactive content for adolescents
• Experience building content within cloud-based Learning Management Systems required (Matrix preferred)
