Manager, Customer Research and Evaluation

Lexia Learning is seeking a Manager to lead our Customer Research & Evaluation (CR&E) team. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Research & Analytics and will be responsible for implementing research and evaluation support as a service to internal teams and customers to help drive school/district interest in Lexia and contribute to the success of partner implementations. The Manager will use a team-oriented approach to deliver high-quality research and evaluation products to meet customers’ needs as well as provide leadership in the development, planning, and execution of strategic research and evaluation initiatives. 

The Manager has a strong foundation in research and evaluation design and theory, but also knows how to leverage that understanding to deliver both standardized and customized services that best address the needs of education systems. In partnership with schools, districts, and states, the CR&E team provides support aimed at improving practices and outcomes for educators and students.

In addition, the Manager will collaborate with the leadership of the Research & Analytics department as well as other business unit leads—e.g., Sales and Customer Success—to pinpoint needs, ensuring that gaps are identified and filled through a portfolio of research and evaluation tools, projects, and services. This individual will exhibit ownership and accountability for team outcomes while ensuring that team activities and actions align to the needs of the business as well as our organizational commitment to improve the lives of students through literacy.

Responsibilities include:


Responsible for the development, planning, and implementation of the CR&E agenda.

Manage project work plans, timelines, and staffing resources.

Manage, develop, mentor, and coach CR&E team members.

Provide opportunities for team members to support and provide direct service to customers and cross-functional leaders to build their expertise.

Collaborate directly with Research leads to support department objectives. 

Proactively seeks input from others and fosters cross-team work.

Develop and report on metrics to demonstrate the impact of CR&E team.

Understand Lexia’s differentiated value and unique capability to align with the customer needs and desired outcomes. Identifies opportunities to build and enhance research and evaluation offerings, products, and services to help drive margin and scale the business.

Research & Evaluation Services

Oversee customer research and evaluation portfolio typically consisting of multiple concurrent projects, including validity reports, correlational analyses, and program evaluations.

Conceptualizes complex, customized project designs following best practices in research/evaluation design and methods.

Define team priorities for initiatives directly supporting field-facing teams.Responds to requests in a timely matter.


Develop and deliver portfolio of self-service reports for customer-facing teams using Tableau.

Support evaluation and analytic plans for school/district partners, including design of customized data visualizations using Tableau and written evaluation reports.

What we’re looking for:

Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment with a proven ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining attention to detail. Ideal candidates will also exhibit qualifications including: 

Master’s Degree in research, evaluation, or relevant quantitative field.

5+ years of research experience (education industry preferred).

Demonstrated effectiveness leading teams and working with a broad range of stakeholders.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities as needs shift or critical customer issues arise.

Able to work well with others and collaborate productively with other team members and colleagues, especially when working with challenges.

Conveys and maintains a positive attitude in the workplace and inspires confidence in team.

Analytical thinker and critical problem solver with strong business acumen.

Consistently delivers quality, error-free work with close attention to details.

Ability to explain complex technical topics in a quick and parsimonious way.

Strong analytical skills using statistical packages (e.g., SPSS, R).

Demonstrated proficiency in data visualization using Tableau.


This is an onsite position located in Lexia’s Concord, MA office.
