Lower School Edtech Coach

Sewickley Academy is seeking to hire a Lower School Edtech Coach. This role is primarily responsible for implementing and integrating technology in our PreK-Grade 5 classes. This role provides small group and one-on-one support for teachers, students, and administration through ongoing, job-embedded professional development on the integration of technology skills and tools into the regular curriculum and school systems. This position exists to improve student learning and to enhance the students’ experience through the use of technology. This is largely accomplished through the support of teachers in planning for and implementing technology in their curricula and classrooms. In addition, this position will help perform IT functions during busy seasons.

  • Provide instructional technology coaching to teachers, by developing and delivering job-embedded professional development on technology as a teaching tool;
  • Seek out ways to intentionally embed technology, and the ISTE standards, into the daily curriculum of our PreK-Grade 5 classes;
  • Training our community in the effective use of the technologies we provide;
  • Supporting students learning on-campus, as well as students learning remotely from home, to resolve their technology issues;
  • Updating the status of trouble tickets in our help desk system;
  • Installing and configuring computing hardware (desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, printers, etc.), software, A/V equipment, and network cabling; troubleshooting and correcting problems that our community members encounter when using technology;
  • Keeping accurate records of technology inventory.
  • In addition to the day to day technical work, the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in improving the services offered by the Technology team. This will include assisting with new technology investigations and research, writing and updating service documentation, proposing and implementing process improvements, and working collaboratively with the cross-divisional technology team


  • This position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in education, computer science, engineering, mathematics, information technology/systems, or an equivalent discipline.
  • The successful candidate will have two or more years of experience providing instructional and/or IT support, facilitating professional development, and excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Experience with project-based learning (PBL) and best practices for leveraging technology within the PBL process.
  • Familiarity with a variety of coaching models which can be implemented to forge deep partnerships with teachers.
  • Knowledge of blended, asynchronous, and synchronous learning models.
  • Experience using and supporting Seesaw, Google Classroom, Google Suite, and other educational technology tools.
  • Demonstrated technical breadth and depth in supporting Windows, Apple, and Chrome devices and classroom technology is required.
  • Background in working with early childhood and/or elementary-aged learners is preferred.
  • The candidate must also demonstrate a history of working collaboratively in a team environment and earning the trust of faculty and administrators.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
