As the Local Marketing Operations Lead at Wonderschool you will help build and scale the bringing on parents to Wonderschool’s on a local level. You will help with awareness, parent acquisition, and retention initiatives that build the Wonderschool brand locally and drive enrollment in our programs in your city. Expect to join a talented, energetic team in our local office.

We are not looking for remote team members. You will report to your local Community Manager and work closely with our Head of Marketing in HQ in San Francisco.


The best candidate for this role is energized and passionate about working at a very early-stage mission-driven startup.

This role requires a combination of marketing, selling, coaching of Directors, and working with the product team to automate tasks. You have 2-4 years experience in Marketing, Admissions, Communications or Business Development, preferably at a startup. You have experience in a few marketing channels (e.g., events, email marketing, social/content marketing, paid ads, etc.), as opposed to depth in one channel.

You can work both sides of your brain: You are data-driven and detail-oriented with strong project management skills, but are equally adept at solving problems creatively and tolerating ambiguity.

You are high energy with an outgoing personality and love talking to people, creating partnerships and maintaining relationships. You bring to the role a knowledge of the community (neighborhoods, schools, parent groups/associations, resources for moms, etc.). 50% of your time will be spent out and about in the community working with parents and Directors’

A strong cross-functional collaborator, you are capable of influencing and collaborating from afar. You are comfortable working independently but can take direction from managers.


  • Goals: Achieve parent enrollment and local awareness goals
  • Admissions: Work with Directors to ensure they enroll students quickly. Work with Directors to have high close rates when parents tour or go to events
  • Events: Plan, promote and execute local Wonderschool events for Directors and for the marketplace. Plan meetups for your area; attend networking events in the community.
  • Coaching: Work with Directors to put their best foot forward (teach them how to use the platform and respond to requests from their community)
  • Social: Daily management of the local Facebook group; engage with community, cultivate connections with prospective parents
  • Enable Directors: Work with Directors to promote themselves on social media. Ensure Directors Wonderschool page put their best foot forward.
  • Brand & Partnerships: Implement local brand strategy for Wonderschool. Build and execute partnerships with local businesses and organizations that help Wonderschool achieve its goals.
  • Promotions: Conceive of and execute parent promotions. Paid advertising: Work with HQ on paid advertising campaigns.
  • Analytics: Report on all local parent and market insights and marketing analytics
  • Email: Ensure a weekly email goes out to parents in the community
  • Test, learn and evolve the practice of local marketing at Wonderschool, establishing best practices and write playbooks to scale our efforts
  • Product / Process: Work closely to support colleagues who find Directors and bring Directors onto the platform


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably within Marketing, Communications, Management, or similar field)
  • 2-4 years experience in Marketing or Business Development, preferably at a startup
  • Experience in a few marketing channels (e.g., events, email marketing, social/content marketing, paid ads, etc.), as opposed to depth in one channel.
  • Ability to work the majority of weekends and be available at the hours Directors need it most (most events occur Saturday and Sunday mornings and evenings after 6. You should expect to be at 3 to 4 of these a week)
  • Incredible communicator and writer


  • Past experience marketing in education industry or to parents
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
