Learning Designer, Math

BetterLesson - Cambridge, Massachusetts or Remote - Full time

Our Learning Design Team is seeking a Math Learning Design specialist to join us full-time to support designing, reviewing, and refining adult learning experiences for math educators focused on math teaching and learning. Our team specializes in designing virtual and in-person synchronous learning opportunities for teachers and leaders, as well as asynchronous learning through instructional content. The Math Learning Designer will support our team with:

  • data review and testing of current offerings
  • framing and documentation of current offerings
  • design of new coaching, workshop, and asynchronous experiences for math educators.

This role will support math curriculum implementation for both teachers and instructional leaders.

You will

  • Report to and work directly with the Senior Manager of Learning Design, Math to design and iterate on math professional development experiences for educators
  • Apply your knowledge of adult learning and leverage your 6-8th grade math expertise to design professional development to support educators to implement math curriculum
  • Collaborate with the Learning Design Team to build instructional content resources to promote successful implementation of math curriculum
  • Collaborate with the Learning Design Team to review and refine math professional learning experiences using data
  • Collect and share learnings and feedback from users to support the piloting and refinement of new products

You Have

  • 4+ years of math teaching experience
  • 3+ years facilitating and designing professional learning experiences for teachers/leaders
  • Experience designing learning experiences across different modalities, including asynchronous experiences
  • Deep understanding of mathematical standards and best practices
  • Familiarity with math curricula like Illustrative Mathematics and Open Up Resources, among others
  • Preference for experience teaching and supporting Algebra I
