The CA Learning & Development team is looking for a mission-driven individual to join our growing team. The L&D Specialist will help enable our 350+ Professional Development Specialists to facilitate high-quality sessions with educators and effectively consult with school leaders across the country. The L&D Specialist will design, coordinate, and facilitate large-scale learning experiences on our products, consultative leadership, and anti-racism.

The Learning & Development Specialist will report to the Senior Manager, Learning & Development and work closely with the field leadership teams and subject matter experts across a variety of teams, including Product Development, Marketing, Educator Success, and our field-facing teams.

The impact you’ll have:

  • Collaborate with field leadership to drive professional development for the PD, Sales, and Account Management teams, leading to exceptional implementations of Curriculum Associates’ programs and student and educator success.
  • Become an expert on our products, the issues faced by teachers in the classroom, and the latest industry trends.
  • Oversee design, development, and implementation of online courses for internal learning.
  • Design, refine, and lead trainings on anti-racism for our field teams to support their work with educators.
  • Successfully design and facilitate professional development for large- and small-scale conferences for the field delivery teams and prepare others to successfully deliver content when applicable.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to evaluate and refine existing learning and development programs to ensure field delivery teams are thoroughly prepared and updated.
  • Work cross-functionally to align and implement systems for onboarding, coaching, and evaluation across the field teams.
  • Design and implement performance-based assessments for field team members, and provide specific, timely feedback and other remediation efforts to encourage growth.
  • Oversee analysis of robust data from educator feedback surveys, field observations, self-study courses, and performance-based assessments to inform learning and development strategy.
  • Lead or assist in special projects related to company-wide learning and development as necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience facilitating teacher and leader professional development at the K-8 level
  • Extensive knowledge of K-8 instruction, research-based instructional practices, adult learning theory, elements of effective professional development, and best practices in facilitation
  • A strong interest in and personal commitment to anti-racism
  • Experience organizing and managing large- and small-scale professional learning events
  • Demonstrated effectiveness managing complex projects and taking initiative to achieve outcomes
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working cross-functionally and building relationships with diverse teams
  • Demonstrated ability to manage through change, including building trust with all stakeholders, listening deeply, and driving towards consensus with respect, compassion, and humility
  • Experience as a field team member in Professional Development, Sales, or Account Management is a plus
  • Experience teaching and leading Mathematics is a plus

Location: Currently, all employees at Curriculum Associates are working remotely due to Covid-19. We are open to remote candidates for this role.

Travel Requirements: Once it is safe to do so, candidates should plan to travel approximately 20% of total time. Required travel includes in-person internal learning events and observations of professional development sessions in schools across the country.
