Learning and Development Manager

Committee for Children - Seattle, Washington - Full time

In our pursuit of positively transforming the social-emotional well-being of 100 million children annually by 2028, Committee for Children is looking for an experienced learning and development manager to join our team! In this role, the learning and development manager will work closely with Human Resources, the chief of staff, and key stakeholders to design and deploy learning and development solutions in support of our people goals and in an effort to achieve our audacious goal. This position will be responsible for creating meaningful programs to develop the capacities and capabilities of our employees, improve engagement, create a sense of belonging, and increase retention. These programs will also support Committee for Children’s values and growth initiative and reinforce role competencies.

Primary Responsibilities Include

  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to assess organizationwide training and development needs. Developing a multiyear road map based on company training needs.
  • Managing end-to-end ownership of both development and implementation of learning strategies and programs.
  • Collaborating with the chief of staff and stakeholders to design and implement learning opportunities to support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Supporting and educating leaders and employees on learning best practices and equipping them with relevant training, accessible tools, and resources.
  • Facilitating training programs.
  • Leveraging existing technology solutions and external platforms to foster and promote innovative learning, in classroom, e-learning, or blended environments.
  • Planning, designing, developing, and maintaining training materials and other collateral to ensure that our learning solutions meet the needs of learners.
  • Continually evaluating training progress and procedures to monitor and analyze effectiveness and recommend updates to programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • BA required; MA and/or advanced degree a plus
  • 5+ years of professional experience in the organizational learning and development field, or other relevant experience
  • Proven success in designing, developing, and deploying company learning solutions for employees at all levels in both classroom and virtual environments
  • Experience developing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) learning opportunities (preferred)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant concepts in adult learning theory, organizational culture change, and leadership
  • Able to influence and motivate others and work collaboratively with all levels of employees
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Talented facilitator and trainer
  • Able to create an engaging and effective learning environment
  • Able to measure the impact of learning initiatives and use data to make recommendations
  • Strong initiative, ability to solve problems, and ability to navigate in an environment of rapid growth and change

Experience and knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion, and culturally relevant practices

Experience in developing relationships at all levels of an organization, with an ability to influence outcomes without authority

Experience with team building in a dynamic environment, as well as strategy, systems thinking, design thinking, and competency models

Strong project management, process, organizational, and complex problem-solving skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to make public presentations and prepare concise and effective written content
