Stratford School continues to develop its technology-enabled education business, both through educational technology in the classroom, and through sophisticated customer relationship management and IT infrastructure. The person in this position will play a key role in supporting the continued advancement of IT in the classroom and in the corporate office.

As an IT Administrator, you will be part of a growing school/organization to provide support to all staff members by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems and providing insightful suggestions for new and improved systems. You will have deep knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures within computer hardware, software and network fields. You will work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions regarding information technology for both systems and networking as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, execute, and implement strategic infrastructure including hardware/software, operational policies and procedures, and networks.
  • Provide primary management of system configuration, design, and architecture.
  • Manage network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers & switches, storage, backup, and archiving.
  • Support additional infrastructure including: email, calendaring, web access, licensing, data center, and document management.
  • Research ideas and questions using a variety of manuals and resources independently as well as collaboratively and make appropriate recommendations to the Director of IT.
  • Seek current news, system information, problems, changes, and updates relevant to our user community to develop proposed upgrades for the IT team.

Skills/Knowledge/Education:

  • BA degree in related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience as a systems administrator.
  • Windows server operating systems proficiency.
  • In depth knowledge and experience of general office applications, frontend and backend systems.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within computer hardware, network fields.
  • Virtualization, data base and SharePoint knowledge.
  • Disaster recovery, backup systems and enterprise storage experience.
  • Project management experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Position frequently involves long hours and widely diverse duties. Must be able to bend, stoop, and perform extensive walking. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Extensive computer time, sitting and driving are necessary in this position.
