Intern, Learning Experience: Instructional Design

BellXcel - Remote - Full time

Position Overview:

The Intern, Learning Experience: Instructional Design will be working with BellXcel’s Senior Instructional Designer in support of all BellXcel learning experience projects.

Position Accountabilities

  • Responsible for the inclusive and accessible design, development, and maintenance of training courses using multiple delivery methods, including instructor led training (classes and webinars), self-paced web-based training and other training and development support

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Define and document learning objectives
  • Conduct research and collaborate with subject experts
  • Create instructional material: courses, curriculum, student guides or training manuals
  • Design content to optimize learning
  • Generate the layout of the learning supports
  • Create visual, audio, and interactive learning tools

Position Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a two- or four-year program at an accredited college or university, studying education, instructional design, or curriculum and instruction.
  • Knowledge of best practices in the creation & design of instructional materials for adult education.
  • Knowledge of best practices in the accessible and inclusive design of in person and online training materials.
  • Intern applicants must be residents of New England and have a permanent address in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Connecticut.

Program Overview

The BellXcel Summer Internship Program is designed to give qualified postsecondary students an opportunity to gain experience working for a national youth development expert in the ed-tech sector, while building skills and connections that will serve them in their postgraduate endeavors. The program includes professional development sessions and emphasizes the importance of exploring career pathways while creating impact in the communities BellXcel serves.

The 2023 BellXcel Summer Internship Program will run from 6/12/2023 - 8/11/2023. Interns are expected to work eight weeks, with a week of floating holiday included in the program schedule. The first week of the program will include an onsite at BellXcel headquarters in Westwood, MA. BellXcel will cover all travel costs associated with the onsite.

This is a paid program, open to students residing in New England. Applicants must have a permanent address in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Connecticut to be considered. Interns who complete all program requirements are eligible to receive an additional $2,500 scholarship paid directly to their educational institution at the conclusion of the program.
