Put simply, the job is to work with Otus school or school district users to ensure their success in using the Otus system in the areas of instruction, assessment, classroom management, and using data to inform instruction. The Integration Specialist will be primarily focused on helping districts integrate their current Student Information System with Otus. This individual will also support the import of third party data from the district into Otus.



  • Facilitate integration between the school/district’s Student Information System and Otus
  • Collaborate with the Development team and our integration partners to ensure a smooth integration process
  • Support the district staff as they install an integration plugin, configure their API, and/or generate rostering and group files to an SFTP site. Develop SQL queries and data extracts as needed for districts
  • Support the import of third party data into Otus
  • Serve as the front line of customer service on integration issues for Otus’ passionate user base by responding to issues via email, chat, and phone


  • Develop in-product tutorials focused on the integration and data upload processes to be used by Otus clients
  • Tackle basic-to-advanced technical questions as they arise in relation to support tickets
  • Attain a deep understanding of the web-based product and iOS applications, and keep abreast of latest changes
  • Contribute to the growing knowledge base of feature requests

Essential Qualifications

  • A strong working knowledge of at least one of the main Student Information Systems (PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, or Skyward)
  • An outgoing personality that resonates over the phone or in email
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Very strong writing ability
  • The ability to solve technical problems
  • Patience to deal with complex issues and a variety of personalities
  • Strong Excel skills and scripting/programming skills preferred
  • Motivation and desire to help others
  • Careful attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Foreign language skills, especially Spanish, are a plus
  • Minimum of an earned Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to travel up to 30% nationally or 80% within the Chicagoland area
