Responsibilities

We’re seeking an Integration Engineer to help the BrightBytes Data Operations team scale our impactful education solutions, providing critical insights to districts across the country. We’re looking for folks with strong system integration skills, who want to put data into action helping school districts make better-informed decisions. You’ll be working directly with our district customers acquiring data sets that will bring our data-driven modules into districts, schools, and classrooms. Here’s What You’d Do:

  • Leverage your knowledge of ETL processes to develop effective and efficient data flows for defined data sets
  • Use your development skills to connect to a variety of RESTful and SOAP API offerings
  • Investigate school district source data and implement automated processes to identify anomalies in the data set
  • Troubleshoot issues and advise on possible solutions
  • Implement proper security protocols and safeguards
  • Write repeatable code and develop mappings to transform raw data into clean, normalized datasets
  • Work with school district technical teams to identify the best method to acquire data in a secure manner
  • Acquire publicly available data to supplement what is available from school district student information systems
  • Write, evaluate, and extend automated data quality reporting and validation
  • Create customer-facing materials to help with data integration and verification
  • Build internal reports and dashboards to increase visibility into internal data processes

Required Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience designing and implementing ETL processes within an iPaaS Platform.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Math, or Engineering.
  • Experience with regex, JavaScript, and JSON is required.
  • Significant experience with SQL is a must.
  • Strong desire to work in the education sector. Previous experience working at an educational institution or within educational technology leveraging diverse data sets is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and development practices.
  • Based in the Bay Area and able to work from a San Francisco office 4 days/week.

This is a full-time position at our San Francisco office.
