Instructional Media Designer

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for an Instructional Media Designer for the Audiovisual Integration and Support for Learning Environments (AISLE) with the Academic Affairs Department. The primary purpose of Audiovisual Integration and Support for Learning Environments (AISLE) at UNC Charlotte is to design, maintain, and support effective and accessible learning environments for faculty, students, and staff. Create and maintain formal, informal, physical, and digital learning spaces that support effective and accessible teaching, learning, and research. Facilitate inclusive learning space maintenance and design practices focused on improving learning space effectiveness and end-user experiences.

Minimum Qualifications: Requires a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Curriculum/Instructional Design, Teaching, or related field to teaching and learning. Five (5) or more years’ experience writing online content, video scripts, design documents and storyboards for a blended learning curriculum that includes on-demand courses, as well as live webinars and instructor-led learning. Essential Job Duties: This position produces and directs custom instructional media in support of online and distance education courses at UNC Charlotte. Works directly with clients (Including faculty) to determine scope and needs of their project. Offers suggestions and guidance to faculty on possibilities for instructional projects based on both a technical understanding of what is possible and an understanding of the instructional goals the project needs to accomplish. Project Manager/Customer Relations. Produce/Direct custom instructional media pre production plan in support of online and distance education courses at UNC Charlotte. Advisor and instructional media design consultant to team members, faculty, support staff, and other outside clients. Assists fellow team members with logistics when overlapping needs occur. Advises supervisor of technology trends.
