Instructional Design Coordinator

Des Moines University is currently accepting applications for an Instructional Design Coordinator (IDC) who will provide instructional design expertise to support innovative course delivery within the College of Health Sciences. The IDC will be responsible for creating and managing a system of course improvement, using faculty development as a foundation to implement new teaching and assessment methodologies for student learning and development. This position is also responsible for the coordination of instruction design support of online and on campus classes. The IDC collaborates with faculty and staff to design courses using current best practices. The IDC also supports faculty in acquiring resources that will inform and develop their skills in evidence-based course delivery materials.

Qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in adult learning, education management, instructional design, curriculum and instruction, educational technology or a related field required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a higher education environment working in a similar capacity.
  • Experience in the design and development of instructional materials and media, interactive educational experiences, and learning assessments.
  • Familiarity with database management.
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in building productive relationships with individuals and groups to support the achievement of program and university wide goals.
