Apply for this job

Classroom, Inc. is looking for a talented and passionate individual to join the organization as an Instructional Coach. We’re looking for someone to work closely with a cohort of schools where teachers are using our web-based literacy games to empower students and boost their reading levels. This is a part-time role where Coaches will be in participating middle, high, and after school programs in the greater NYC area two days per week as part of the professional learning and school support team.

Who are you? You’re someone who has not only used technology, data, and blended learning to transform student’s ability to read and write — you also are an incredible coach and mentor of educators! You love helping other practitioners deepen their understanding and skills of how to reach all of their students — and you relish seeing actual results. You are also the kind of person who thinks about how systems can be used to boost productivity – both for yourself and others. Working within a small, encouraging, and growing team, you will manage a portfolio of schools to deliver an inspiring blended-learning model and define exceptional goals for teachers and students.

In this job you will:

  • Meet with school leaders and participating teachers to set clear goals at the beginning of the school year to achieve measurable, data-driven outcomes for both student learning and teacher practice
  • Use effective coaching techniques to train teachers to infuse digital games in a blended-learning context within the school day, after school, and/or summer enrichment.
  • Provide support to teachers in how to use digital tools as a supplement in achieving student gains, with specific emphasis on using data to drive instruction and implementing a blended learning rotational model
  • Use Salesforce to keep track of teacher and school progress, develop school partner management, and fill out site visit reports
  • Maintain follow up through regular communication (email, phone calls, texts, and Google Hangout) with your teachers and school leaders

Requirements

  • Expertise in elementary, middle school, and high school literacy with a strong focus on blended-learning to enhance the classroom experience
  • Expertise in a blended learning model
  • Ability to manage and coach teachers to improve student outcomes
  • Experience in utilizing digital tools to drive instructional outcomes
  • Ability to managing school-based relationships and experience managing clients
  • Comfort in web-based technologies like Google Drive, Google Apps, including Google Apps for Education
  • Personal car to travel throughout the tri-state area (nice to have)
