Instruction Advisors

Girls Who Code - Remote - Part time

Girls Who Code is seeking enthusiastic instructional Advisors for our 2021 Self-Paced Program. Our curriculum is designed to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls with the skills and resources to pursue academics and careers in the technology and engineering sectors, as well as build bravery and confidence.

Our new flexible virtual program is unique in its approach by offering students across the country to participate in a self-paced computer science class that includes asynchronous instruction with weekly synchronous support and community-building opportunities. Students will have 6 weeks to complete up to 3 class projects focused on HTML, CSS, and JavaScript beginning July 6 through August 13.

We believe all girls have the interest and ability to code. Our Self-Paced Program Advisors encourage, nurture and mentor students through our program. Each Advisor will support multiple cohorts over the course of 6 weeks, and will co-lead one Advisory meeting for each cohort each week and co-facilitate Student (Office) Hours 4-5 times per week. Advisory meetings are a chance to build community with icebreaker games, project share outs and feedback, and programming challenges. Student Hours are an opportunity for students to get additional synchronous support while they work through the course and to complete projects in a collaborative virtual co-working space.

Join us in welcoming these students into a supportive sisterhood of girls who code all across the US!
