Under the supervision of the Senior Director, Impact Consulting, the Impact Consultant will support the organization in understanding our impact and program quality through qualitative and quantitative data management, aggregation, analysis and reporting as part of a broader impact strategy. The Impact Consultant will engage in projects and activities that allow NTC to better define, measure and communicate its impact, with special attention on understanding and utilizing data.

The Impact Consultant is responsible advising and supporting departments and specific projects on impact strategies. This includes collecting and analyzing data, reporting impact results, and collaborating on the design and execution of projects. This position works cross-functionally with NTC departments to ensure that the team’s needs around data and impact are being represented and addressed. This role requires four general attributes: attention to detail, client services orientation, excellent project management skills, and intellectual curiosity.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

The following is an overview of the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. The employee may perform other duties as required.

  • Impact Consulting:
  • Assist in developing and executing an impact strategy at the program-, grant-, or department-level;
  • Rapid onboarding and development of subject matter expertise, as required by specific projects;
  • Analyze project data/reporting requirements;
  • Support gathering, analyzing and reporting on data to help NTC create positive supports for new teachers and assess the impact of our overall body of work;
  • Engage clients in gathering ancillary data and survey administration;
  • Design and maintain survey databases and data reporting systems;
  • Develop materials (PPT decks, memos, infographics) for specific projects to help communicate impact and data analyses.
  • Analysis/Reporting:
    • Calculate descriptive and summary statistics for reporting
    • Write/publish detailed reports appropriate for intended audiences
    • Field Ad Hoc analysis requests
  • Special Projects:
    • Lead project management, development, and documentation
    • Conduct data analysis and reporting
    • Spearhead communication protocols and deliverables

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s degree or 6+ years of professional experience in education research or a related field.
  • This position requires thorough knowledge of and skills in educational impact including data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Basic skills with statistical software (e.g., SAS preferred, SPSS), experience linking data, strong writing skills, and knowledge of APA writing style.
  • Experience constructing data displays, charts, and graphs in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of instruction and teaching conditions as it relates to impact is preferred.
  • Project management skills preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and converse fluently in English.

  • Travel requirement not to exceed 10%
