Head of Sales (Remote)

LearnWell - Remote - Full time

LearnWell is specialized and dedicated to supporting the 49% of all students who may be struggling with an underlying mental health condition—such as depression, anxiety or other mood disorders—which often manifest in self-destructive behavior, substance use, and eating disorders. In partnership with treatment facilities and school districts, we provide an integrated set of academic and mental wellness services for students and their families throughout the continuum of care.

We are hiring a Head of K-12 Sales to establish a new team at LearnWell as we expand more deeply into this market segment with a unique mental health counseling service. We expect this new service to be a crucial support for school districts and we anticipate high demand. As a key member of the LearnWell Management Team, this role reports to the CEO and will lead a new high-growth area of the business.

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Establish a sales strategy to launch LearnWell’s new mental health counseling services for districts
  • Hire and manage a team responsible for developing administrator-level district relationships within LearnWell’s top 150 customers, while continuing to expand our reach to new customers in each geographic market
  • Leverage existing LearnWell district relationships, as well as one’s own existing district relationships to effectively sell and cross-sell the portfolio of LearnWell services
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other management team members to guide continued growth of the business

The right candidate will bring the leadership skills and K-12 domain expertise to establish relationships with district decision-makers. This role will be responsible for building and leading a team of Account Managers (hunter-farmers) but will also roll-up his/her sleeves to contribute to the selling effort.

Key job responsibilities of the Account Management team include:

  • Establish relationships with decision-makers at LearnWell’s top 150 school districts with the goal of introducing and/or cross-selling LearnWell counseling and academic services
  • Effectively communicate the purpose, value and use case scenarios for all service offerings
  • Conduct ongoing outreach to existing district customers to optimize sell-through and usage of services
  • Manage the annual contracting process, negotiate fixed-fee agreements with districts as necessary
  • Conduct quarterly customer review meetings to demonstrate program impact and gather feedback
  • Cultivate reference accounts, customer champions and pursue referrals to new districts
  • Manage the selling process for all in-bound leads for counseling and academic services outside of LearnWell’s top 150 school districts

Qualifications for the role:

  • Seven years of sales experience, with at least three years of K-12 sales management experience
  • Prior experience selling to district administration, preferably Student Services, Pupil Personnel, School Psychology or Guidance
  • Ability to set a high bar and lead by example; helping team members develop skills for success
  • Excellent client engagement skills: listening, analyzing, speaking, writing, and presenting
  • Proven success in high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Track record of goal attainment in sales and customer service
  • Proficient use of computer software, including Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
