Head of People Operations

KickUp, Inc. - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania or Remote - Full time

KickUp is looking for a Head of People Operations to join our growing team. This is a new role on the KickUp leadership team, and is designed to help us strengthen our employee experience.

In this hands-on role you will actively shape diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, promote and cultivate KickUp culture, and drive talent and performance management improvements. Your ability to work cross-functionally, understand the pulse of the company, build on the company’s existing strengths, and influence at all levels is important.

Your priorities in the first year

  • Develop and set KickUp’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy, along with the leadership team
  • Shape and implement DEI best practices in the workplace
  • Lead the entire employee career lifecycle focusing first on recruiting, onboarding, and employee benefits
  • Develop and set our employee learning and development program from onboarding to ongoing skill development
  • Develop and set our employee recognition strategy
  • Develop and set our employee career progression and evaluation strategy

Your responsibilities within and beyond the first year:

  • Continuously improve the employee experience using industry best practices and employee data to drive strategic decisions
  • Lead the entire talent acquisition process with a focus on great candidate experience
  • Serve as a trusted resource for all employees, guiding them through career development and interpersonal conversations
  • Ensure consistent and transparent application of company policies and practices
  • Serve as an advisor to managers on HR-related issues
  • Provide manager training and coaching
  • Develop and lead a 360 feedback process for the organization
  • Lead a successful transition to becoming a remote-first company
  • Design systems and events that keep employees engaged with each other in a remote work environment
  • Design and maintain an inspiring and inviting physical office environment
  • Lead company-wide communications and events (updates, all-hands meetings, off-sites, etc.)
  • Manage human resources processes such as compliance, compensation, HRIS, etc.

  • have at least 7 years of professional experience including ~ 2-5 years experience in the People Operations field and additional experience in other operational roles.
  • have experience developing and maintaining HR projects and programs.

  • have a proven ability to diagnose problems and drive appropriate solutions.

Position Details

This is a full-time position that offers a high level of flexibility. This role can be performed remotely with travel to Philadelphia required approximately twice per quarter. The ideal candidate will reside within a 2-3 hour commute to our offices.

Our team is remote-first, however we will be re-opening offices in Old City, Philadelphia as an optional workspace.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $100,000, with additional compensation attached to team-wide growth targets.

We believe in the importance of recharging and offer a flexible PTO policy. Most of our employees average between 15-18 PTO days per year in addition to 11+ paid company holidays.
