Head of Marketing and Digital Media

BoomWriter - Cambridge, MA - Full time

BoomWriter is looking for a social media lover with passion for education, motivated self-starter who lives and breathes all things social and digital and has worked in the education industry before. You'll be a driving force of the social media strategy for BW. As Digital Media & Marketing specialist, you'll showcase your creativity and innovation as you work across teams to support BW’s business goals and provide excellent social support to our customers.

As the Head of Digital Media and Marketing, you will play a hands-on role in executing all aspects of digital marketing campaigns – from writing creative briefs, to providing creative feedback, to launching and measuring outcomes. You must have a strong understanding of the nuances of social media, paid search and display channels and are able to create relevant and engaging content.

We’re looking for a strong leader who can champion social initiatives across all aspects of the business, while being detail-oriented and impressively organized.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct/execute market research
  • Conduct brand evaluation, brand positioning and brand-related deliverables
  • Perform research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content
  • Analyze markets, trends and audience groups
  • Build and maintain the editorial calendar for all social channels (including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter)
  • Plan, develop and manage our paid media campaigns.
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages our audience to take action
  • Write creative briefs and develop campaigns that drive results and support business objectives
  • Collaborate with in-house video team to develop highly engaging video content created with social best practices in mind
  • Measure campaign metrics against targeted KPIs to identify and present areas for optimization, improvements in messaging/creative and cost efficiencies
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a social way while cultivating leads and sales
  • Contribute to the strategy for how social contributes to larger marketing initiatives and business goals
  • Identify opportunities to engage with our core audiences in new and innovative ways
  • Maintain our brand voice in customer communications across all our social media networks and relevant online forums
  • Support other social initiatives as needed
  • Requirements
  • Passion for education and preferably experience in education
  • 2-4 years of social media experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Attention to detail
  • A willingness to go above and beyond and get your hands dirty
  • Ability to think on your feet and make quick, smart decisions
  • In-depth knowledge of social media, marketing management and data tools, like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, Facebook Ads Manager, Facebook open graph, HubSpot, etc.
  • Understanding of SEO and content marketing
  • Positive attitude, detail, and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
  • Photoshop and digital media skills a plus
