Who we are

Prisma is a new kind of education company driven by a singular mission: to prepare kids to thrive in our rapidly changing world. The world is changing faster than ever, yet our current education system is not designed for rapid change. At Prisma we have designed a new kind of learning experience for grades 4-12, built from the ground up to not only develop kids' future-ready skills but to instill in them a desire to make a large, positive impact on the world. Prisma combines the flexibility of home-based learning, the socialization of a close-knit peer group that meets daily, the support of an inspiring learning coach, and the personalization of an interests-based, adaptable curriculum. We believe that every student deserves to love school, be able to progress at their own pace, pursue what interests them, and to reach their full potential. If you believe this too and you dream of a job where you can truly have an impact on the world, read on!

Prisma was founded by two repeat founders whose most recent venture was bought by Google in one of its most expensive acquisitions to date. We are a well and self-funded, mission-driven company focused on scalable and sustainable growth.

What the role is

If you’re a talented sales person or enrollment specialist wishing for a role where you can truly make a difference and where you can feel genuinely passionate about the service you are selling, this could be your dream job. There’s nothing more meaningful than helping families find the perfect educational environment for their child. And there’s nothing more motivating than being a part of a team where everyone is driven to make a difference in the world and where everyone is deeply passionate about what they do. Every day at Prisma we hear heartwarming stories about kids who are thriving in ways they never dreamed possible - and these will be kids who join Prisma thanks to you.

Your primary responsibility at Prisma will be to educate, counsel and support prospective parents as they decide if Prisma is the right fit for their child. This includes doing regular live virtual info sessions, meeting virtually 1-on-1 with parents when they have additional questions, communicating with prospective parents via email and following up with interested families to keep them engaged.

In addition to overseeing our admissions process, you will be responsible for building and supporting our parent community - everything from helping to organize virtual experiences like family game nights and parent education events to working with parents to facilitate in-person meetups and camps.

Finally, you will be tasked with developing and supporting our global alumni network, which is in its infancy but has the potential to be a hugely important part of what we do.

If you love meeting people from all over the world, learning about their hopes and dreams for their children and building authentic connections and you’re passionate about education (especially alternative education) this could be your dream job. This is not a typical sales role where you try to convince people to buy your service at all costs; this is a role where you really try to understand the needs of prospective customers and help them to discover if Prisma is the right fit for them. The right candidate will be a natural ‘people person’ who is warm, engaging, credible, trustworthy and authentic. You will be a great listener and a charismatic presenter. You will need to understand Prisma’s pedagogy, curriculum and program inside-out so you should be excited by the idea of being deeply involved in the development of a groundbreaking new approach to education. If this sounds like you, we can’t wait to hear from you!

What you will do

  • Run small-group live virtual info sessions (multiple times/week during our ‘high’ season for admissions, less frequently during the low season)
  • Speak 1-on-1 with interested families who have follow-up questions or want to connect 1-on-1
  • Manage email communications with prospective families
  • Manage our CRM system to ensure we are nurturing and engaging interested families on a regular basis
  • Organize admissions events like Q&As with existing families and learners and ‘meet & greets’ with coaches.
  • Run webinars and other live events to build an engaged community of families interested in alternative K12 education.
  • Collaborate with our head of marketing to refine our marketing campaigns based on what you learn in conversation with prospective families
  • Work closely with our head of school to engage our parent community via family nights, ‘coffee’ talks and other community events
  • Work closely with our head of school to develop and implement a plan for creating an engaged and loyal alumni community
  • As the role evolves, develop and implement a plan for raising funds for Prisma’s scholarship fund for families that can’t afford Prisma’s full tuition

Who the ideal candidate is

  • A true ‘people’ person who loves getting to know new people and can quickly build trust and rapport in a virtual setting.
  • An excellent listener who really tries to understand the needs of our customers.
  • An engaging, natural presenter who’s comfortable talking in front of a group (virtually) and can present in an authentic, non-sales pitchy way (experience in running engaging webinars is a big plus).
  • A fast learner who can quickly get up to speed on Prisma’s curriculum and program and who enjoys learning about and discussing K12 education.
  • A well organized and driven sales exec who treats each prospective customer like gold and nurtures leads persistently and diligently.
  • A CRM guru who eats & breathes CRM, in particular HubSpot.
  • A self-starter who can own and run our sales org.
  • A natural connector who likes to connect others and build community.
  • Prior sales experience (in any industry) is a must
  • You should be excited about working in a fully distributed team.
  • Being passionate about K12 education and especially innovative education is important.
  • Being a parent who understands what it’s like to make decisions about your child’s education and/or a teacher who understands the education system is not a requirement but would be a big plus.
  • Prior experience in K12 admissions is not a requirement. If you’ve been a rockstar sales person in another industry and are looking for a more meaningful, impactful kind of role, we want to hear from you!

Beyond possessing these skills, if you also exude these traits, we want to talk with you!

  • Gutsy: Unafraid to speak up, take risks and think differently
  • Humble: Quick to give credit and slow to pass blame
  • Can-do: Optimistic, bring solutions, not problems, and always find a way
  • Team player: Care about, respect, help, and speak candidly with others
  • Driven: Go above and beyond to achieve our mission

Benefits

  • Competitive salary + commissions
  • Company equity
  • Health insurance and 401(k) with access to optional benefits such as Dental, Vision, Life insurance, HSA/FSA, etc.
  • Unlimited Vacation policy
  • Work from anywhere in the world
  • Flexible work schedule (compatible with US-based working hours)
