Senior Manager, Account Management and Renewals (Raleigh, NC)

IXL Learning, a leading edtech company with products used by 10 million students worldwide, is seeking a customer-focused, hands-on and motivated individual to lead our Account Management and Renewal Teams.

The ideal candidate understands the K-12 landscape and has experience in educational technology SaaS renewal sales and account management. You will empower and support a team of Account Managers and Subscription Renewal Specialists, developing and leading initiatives aimed at propelling growth in our product user base made up of K-12 students, maximizing retention of those students, while strengthening adoption within schools and districts. You will develop and lead our customer engagement strategies, including onboarding, implementation and customer health checks, that result in retention and expansion, while exceeding renewal sales targets.


  • Lead, manage and motivate a team of high-performing Account Managers and Subscription Renewal Specialists
  • Mentor and coach this team to achieve high levels of performance and professional development
  • Own the ultimate success of our customers, including implementation, product adoption, retention and growth
  • Work closely with field sales managers on expansion strategies within current districts to drive territory growth
  • Develop strategies, tactics and an operational plan for the team to achieve targeted goals
  • Serve as a customer advocate while effectively collaborating with internal, cross-functional teams including account services, sales management, professional services, marketing, and product management
  • Exceed renewal and expansion sales goals on a consistent basis
  • Refine and continuously improve an end-to-end view of the customer journey


  • BA/BS degree
  • 3+ years of experience in a people management role focused on building a customer-centric account management and / or renewal sales team
  • 8+ years of experience in customer-facing roles such as Account Manager, Customer Success Manager, Inside Sales or Renewal Sales
  • Educational technology, classroom, educational sales, or related educational experience highly preferred
  • Well organized, analytical, self-motivated and able to inspire and lead a high performing team while handling IXL’s rapid growth
  • Demonstrated success at managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent ability to drive resolution of customer escalations, contract negotiations, and at-risk account mitigation.
  • Aptitude for understanding a technical product and technical needs of customers; comfortable with technology and passionate about bringing technology into the classroom
