Full Stack Development- Instructor

Marin County, CA | Contract

Coding Corps Marin is kicking off its inaugural class and we are currently looking for Instructors!

Instructors will help change students lives by sharing their skills and expertise. Instructors will work closely with students and program managers to ensure that cohort members have all of the technical skills they need to be career ­ready at the end of the program. This means that instructors will lead classroom activities – ranging from technical lectures to labs to review sessions. Instructors give students direct feedback to help them grow both technically and professionally.

This is a contract position based in Marin County - 30+ hours week, including instruction and prep time. Commitment is from August 1st to October 30th.

What You’ll Do

  • Instruct from the Flatiron school curriculum (provided by #YesWeCode)
  • Deliver lectures on complex programming concepts in terms that a newcomer can understand.
  • Help students get the skills needed to be enthusiastic contributors to the tech community
  • Lead classroom activities and provide feedback to students
  • Respond to student inquiries both online and in person
  • Provide real ­world examples and context for lessons
  • Build a supportive classroom environment
  • Adjust curriculum and content to adapt to student and/or employer needs
  • Share passion and enthusiasm for development.
  • Help graduate 25-30 trainees from the program.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with peers and students
  • Ability to learn quickly, be flexible, and adapt
  • Demonstrated experience in software development
  • Prior teaching experience preferred.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification is a plus
  • Graduate from a bootcamp or current software engineer preferred

Coding Corps Marin is a 6 month pilot program powered by #YesWeCode and Marin Community Foundation aimed at teaching low income underrepresented minorities how to code. Our program will consist of young adults with varying levels of coding knowledge. All of our graduates will be equipped with soft skills training and practical full-stack development knowledge. Our immersive program will take a blending learning approach to teaching with online and in person instruction. All graduates will receive job placement support.
