Position Overview
We at Illuminate Education are looking for a seasoned Front-End Developer to join our growing team. We have one of the best SaaS solutions for the K-12 education field and are looking to make it better with your help. You’ll be expected to build client-facing web applications and participate in technical discussions to help make sure we're building the right solutions with appropriately sized milestones. If you are self-motivated with a passion for development, then we want you to help achieve our mission of promoting student and student educator success. This role is for a front-end developer with basic knowledge of backend development.
Key Responsibilities
- Have excellent technical skills including HTML/CSS, Javascript, frameworks, and tools to build user-facing web applications.
- Optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability across modern browsers.
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clean testable code.
- Maintain look and feel throughout the design and development.
- Ensure websites are accessible across many platforms.
- Collaborate with back-end engineers and UI/UX teams.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies.
- Work both independently and in a team environment, and be able to deliver under tight deadlines.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Javascript and frontend frameworks (VueJS, Angular, or React), CSS, and HTML.
- Translate UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that renders visual elements of the application.
- Solid experience in consuming GraphQL and REST services.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub as a version control tool.
- Exposure in backend technologies such as Go or .NET a plus.
- Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, and other cloud-oriented technology are a plus.
- Experience working with Linux server environments.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
