FINANCIAL MANAGER

Write the World - Cambridge, Massachusetts or Remote - Part time

Position Summary:

Write the World seeks an experienced Financial Manager to assist in managing the financial operations of the company. Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for overall financial management and bookkeeping duties including payroll, invoicing, reconciliation of accounts, administration, record keeping, and financial projections. You will also work closely with our core team to manage individual project and program budgets. With the increasing demand for remote learning solutions, this is an exciting time to join Write the World as our worldwide membership continues to rapidly grow. Responsibilities:

● Support the CEO in preparing financial reports and budgets.

● Process and manage payroll for all employees, contractors, and vendors.

● Assist with contracting processes, including transfer of funds arrangements.

● Manage online payments by customers of Write the World.

● Monitor and account for subscriptions and payments for technology services, including website and online products.

● Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and credit card statements.

● Ensure contractor and vendor records and contracts are current and in order.

● Work closely with CEO to ensure financial records, systems, and processes are in order.

● Coordinate annual audit and prepare annual financial report.

● Prepare information necessary for tax reporting, including annual 1099 statements.

● Assist with preparation of financial projections, working with CEO.

Requirements:

● Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.

● Outstanding academic record.

● 3+ years experience.

● Thorough understanding of GAAP.

● Strong presentation, writing, and communication skills.

● High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

● Experience managing database software (eg, Excel and Airtable)

● Strong work ethic.

● Ability to work independently and remotely, as necessary.

● Passion for education.
