Description:
The Finance Lead will help inquirED meet its mission by ensuring our financial health, controls, and processes set us up for success in our work. The Finance Lead will own the creation of accounting practices and procedures, ensuring our books are aligned with GAAP standards and business needs, execute financial strategy, and develop financial tools to support decision-making and sustainability. They will prepare financial reports for leadership and the board and support financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy: Help shape and execute our financial strategy by creating scalable, efficient processes, identifying necessary systems and tools, defining finance metrics, and ensuring financial data is aligned with business needs.
- Budget Ownership: Develop and own an annual budget with key stakeholders, support team leaders in managing their budget, and oversee quarterly forecasting.
- Cashflow Management: Forecast and monitor cash to meet solvency targets and mitigate fiscal risks during organizational expansion.
- Accounting: Create and own processes for accounting practices, including revenue recognition, scenario planning, month-end close processes, and AR/AP.
- Fiscal Management & Reporting: Ensure the adequacy of financial controls, timely financial reporting, accurate monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts, and other ad hoc reports as required.
- Develop tools that enable monitoring and optimization of our finances. Own org financial model, created and maintained with Sales, RevOps, and other stakeholders.
- Work with outside accountants on federal, state, and local taxes, ensuring that tax returns are filed timely and in the appropriate jurisdictions.
Requirements:

- Startup experience: You’ve worked at a growing org with evolving financial needs and have worn various hats in the financial space. You have a keen ability to prioritize and exercise a high degree of ownership and confidence.
- Strong sense of ownership: You confidently own complex projects and tools with significant impact.
- 7 years of relevant work experience in progressively responsible FP&A and strategic finance roles, preferably within the K12 education industry.
- Hands-on experience with financial management software.
- Strong knowledge of accounting rules under GAAP and technical skills in financial reporting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.

The base compensation range for this role is $97,000-132,000. Total compensation for this role also includes a full benefits package. This compensation range and title may be adjusted based on actual experience.Must be U.S. based.
