Districts Partnership Manager

ISTE - Remote - Full time

The Districts Partnerships Manager, Membership Services will cultivate relationships with school districts starting from initial outreach through sale close, while providing ongoing support to district partners. As an integral part of the ISTE Team, the Districts Partnerships Manager will actively listen to district leaders and identify synergies across ISTE departments to offer solutions. This role will be tasked with identifying, recognizing and highlighting exceptional work of districts. This role is also responsible for fulfilling orders, tracking activity data and providing progress reports back to the district.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the executive concierge for district partners to ensure their experience with ISTE is exceptional
  • Manage the outreach, lead qualification and needs assessment process for prospective district partners, and stay in regular contact with current partners to initiate feedback and evaluate ongoing partner experience
  • Manage the district leads database in Salesforce and execute sales outreach to move leads through the sales process
  • Report and analyze data related to district KPIs and other key metrics, prepare documents and presentations to staff, leadership, board members and district contacts
  • Provide support to district partners by offering additional ISTE products and services
  • Recognize outstanding districts through the ISTE Distinguished District Award program, featuring flagship districts, and profiling district success stories
  • Work with partner organizations and companies to further support districts
  • Manage projects that support district program objectives, goals and strategy
  • Coordinate event logistics including décor and menu selection, speaker selection, budgets, contract review, and registration
  • Partner with the marketing and IT teams on campaigns and communications to districts and prospective district partners; initiate new campaigns or projects based on data and feedback from current partners and past campaign results

  • Serves on staff committees and specialized work groups as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Elements:

This position primarily works in a temperature controlled office environment. ISTE’s office spaces include traditional office lighting as well as frequent noise, interruptions and other similar ambient distractions.   • Receive, understand, evaluate and appropriately respond to communications from employees, the Board of Directors, and members of the public using available technology, in person and in a public setting when necessary.
  • Use a personal computer or other technology devices frequently and consistently for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, creating, transmitting, and presenting documents, data and other business-related information.
  • Some business travel may be required, via traditional modes of transportation (including airline travel), some of which may involve one or more overnight stays away from home.
  • The position must occasionally lift, transport and/or move up to approximately 30 pounds in the performance of regular duties.

For this position, we are considering candidates who may report to our offices in Arlington, VA, or Portland, OR, as well as candidates from outside those immediate geographic areas. Full-time remote or hybrid remote/in-office arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.


Minimum Qualification Guidelines:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors’ Degree in a related field
  • 2-4 years of work experience in project management, sales, or education
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be acceptable.

Also desirable:

  • Experience working in k12 sales or within the field of education
  • Experience developing and coordinating department-level budgets
  • Experience working with Salesforce

Skill Requirements:

  • Exceptional communicator with a strong customer service drive; high degree of comfort reaching out to new contacts to explain a new product or service or seek feedback to detail grammatical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with good spelling, proofreading and
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills with keen attention
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and ISTE stakeholders; builds consensus and gains cooperation from others to accomplish goals
  • Strong web research skills
  • Strong computer and data management skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Comfortable working with a customer database
