Project Manager

The Concord Consortium (, a nonprofit research and development organization dedicated to transforming STEM education through technology, is looking for a creative, organized, and personable Project Manager to assist in the management of multi-year educational research projects. By interacting with a variety of project partners including researchers, programmers, teachers, and students, you will work to ensure the success of cutting-edge research into the use of technology to further STEM education. We’re looking for a team player who is excited to work in a stimulating, technology‐rich environment to make a difference in education. This position is located in Concord, MA.

As a Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

●Working with researchers, curriculum developers, programmers, and administrative staff on a variety of projects across the organization

●Developing a solid understanding of all aspects of the projects

●Maintaining project schedules, calendars, and document repositories; assisting PIs in adhering to deadlines; coordinating and preparing materials for workshops and meetings with teachers, project partners, and others

●Coordinating with schools and working with teachers to implement our educational innovations; traveling to school sites for teacher workshops and to observe classroom implementations

●Coordinating and conducting usability tests of online materials and software with students

●Reviewing, editing, producing, and managing digital assets for websites and online curricula

●Assisting in design of curriculum and support materials such as teacher guides and instructions

●Keeping abreast of the field in educational research and development

●Assisting in writing annual and final project reports

●Assisting with development of research papers and professional conference presentations

●Assisting participants and partners in adhering to Concord protocols for school visits, contracts, invoices, and expense reports

●Tracking work completed by project partners and coordinating efforts to meet project goals

●Troubleshooting and fielding technical support questions and other issues from teachers and students as they arise

To accomplish this you need:

●An undergraduate degree or beyond in STEM education, computer science, or a STEM field

●Extended experience and fluency with technology

●Experience working with students/youth

●Excellent writing and editing skills

●Ability to be a good team player: willing to pitch in and do what needs to be done to make the project a success; successful ability to work with people in small groups and collaborative settings

●Strong background in Google Apps, Microsoft Word, Excel, modeling, and data collection

●Ability to remain detail oriented while not losing sight of the larger picture

●Comfort diving in and learning features of software systems quickly

●Cognizance of the demands and constraints imposed on typical classroom teachers

●Willingness to travel to school test sites during the school year for regular observations or assistance with multi-week classroom implementations

●Experience managing schedule, deliverables, and budget for multi-year projects of $500K+

You will be even more successful if you have:

●Formal or informal teaching experience

●Experience with innovative technologies for STEM teaching and learning
