Position Overview:

This position is a split position. The estimated breakdown of your time is as follows (and subject to change):

60%: Executive Assistant

The ideal candidate will leverage a broad range of skills with a high degree of professionalism and discretion in managing a variety of responsibilities. It is very important that the candidate has/develops an understanding of the appropriate prioritization of partners’ time and focus as it relates to impact and time sensitivity of tasks. The candidate must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills to effectively manage administrative responsibilities. This position affords incredible exposure to the startup world, and a fantastic learning experience.

40%: Junior Associate

The Junior Associate will help with the day-to-day operations of the Accelerator program. On any given day, you need to be ready to do lots of different things from event planning to research, marketing to business development, creating social media content to mundane yet necessary operational tasks and a wide range of other tasks that we haven’t even thought of yet to support the LearnLaunch Accelerator team and the companies in the accelerator. Essentially, if you have a “startup mentality” and are passionate about education, technology, and entrepreneurship then you want you working with us.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Ensure clarity and strong coordination of the partner’s daily activities.
  • Proactively maintain partner’s calendar and daily schedule; arrange upcoming meetings and conferences and prepare partner by providing supporting information.
  • Prioritize and direct incoming mail; take appropriate actions to route or respond to routine administrative and/or business matters.
  • Proactively collaborate with staff members and teams as needed to serve as an informed liaison to the partner.
  • Maintain executive files and documents. Prepare PowerPoint decks and other documents.
  • Manage or assist with special projects and events as needed including conducting research, event planning, preparation for speaking and other engagements, etc.
  • Provide administrative support for meeting preparation, logistics and follow up.
  • Handle other administrative duties as necessary.
  • Respond to inquiries from external and internal stakeholders.
  • Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of the organization’s mission, values, strategic goals and program model.
  • Schedule informational meetings with key staff members as needed to deepen understanding, create clarity, and assist with learning as needed.
  • Assist community manager in effectively communicating LearnLaunch Accelerator programs to the community.
  • Assist community manager in maintaining LearnLaunch’s blog, Facebook, and Twitter
  • Promote LearnLaunch, its programs, and its portfolio companies at every available opportunity, with specific responsibilities for recruitment and promotion.
  • Work with staff to define the larger growth strategy.
  • Manage feedback from our community and stakeholders to continuously improve our programs and uncover new opportunities.
  • Assist with creation, conception, and execution of marketing campaigns

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Exceptionally organized with keen attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; strong ability to inform and engage through written communications
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; ability to work with diverse populations and all levels of staff
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and resourcefulness; ability to follow-through
  • Flexibility and ability to shift focus and priorities quickly
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, positive and professional manner
  • Proficient in MS Office 2010 with excellent Outlook organizational skills; able to facilitate use of technology for conference calls, and meetings
