Event Partnership Development Associate, Tech And Learning

Tech & Learning has reported on innovation in K-20 education technology since 1980. Tech & Learning’s purpose is to be THE dedicated resource to help K-20 education professionals use technology to enhance the student experience and drive innovative learning. Tech & Learning’s award-winning publications, websites, e-newsletters, and virtual and in-person events provide factual and evaluative information on trends, products, and strategies to education leaders who purchase technology products in their districts and schools.

The Event Partnership Development Associate, Tech & Learning, will cultivate and manage partnerships with states, districts, and other departments of education to develop new event opportunities and build a community of K-12 decision makers to recruit for event attendance. The Event Partnership Development Associate, Tech & Learning will report to the Tech & Learning Brand Director and will work closely with the Tech & Learning content, operations, commercial, and marketing teams to develop and manage a competitive calendar of events.

Success will be measured by meeting and exceeding event attendee and budget goals for new and legacy Tech & Learning events and developing and supporting a competitive event calendar for K-12 education professionals. The role also requires continuous event content innovation and evolution to support Tech & Learning’s mission to be the top resource for K-12 and higher education professionals.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Identify specific regions in the U.S. that would benefit from professional development events for K-12 school professionals.
  • Identify specific contacts in these regions who can partner with Tech & Learning to create new competitive events.
  • Cultivate and manage partnerships with states, districts, and other departments of education to develop new events.
  • Build a community of K-12 decision makers/event ambassadors to support attendee recruitment.

Requirements

  • Experience in event marketing and partnership development, ideally in the education industry
  • Demonstrated flexibility to manage multiple tasks, solve problems and schedule work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Energetic, adaptive and fast learner with a keen determination to work in an environment that caters to total customer satisfaction.
  • Critical thinker/Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Dedication to meeting quarterly and annual growth targets.
  • A strong sense of organization with strict attention to detail. Project management experience is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel is required. Proficiency with other software packages, such as SalesForce or similar CRM software, is a plus.
  • Legal right to work in the United States. This position can be Remote or based in the Washington, DC, or New York area.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
