Engineering Operations Manager - remote

Position Overview

This role is intended to work closely with the Engineering leader, providing day to day support and ensuring that projects / initiatives are executed to plan. Note that RACI terminology is used intentionally for the role the individual will play on various initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Engineering Leadership to drive strategic business initiatives from development through to successful execution under the guidance of engineering and executive leadership. Examples include responsibilities for SDLC, Escalation processes, SLA’s, Engineering Roadmap development, and vendor management, among other organizational initiatives
  • Assist and communicate with engineering executives in decision-making, program management, initiative implementation and tracking key projects vs planned execution.
  • Develop and manage dashboards and analytics to monitor team performance indicators in support of organizational delivery goals
  • Ensure communication and alignment across different teams, particularly Product, Operations, and client-facing teams
  • Be a change agent and ensure best practices and improvements through the SDLC
  • Develop and manage both internal and external Engineering communications in a way that demonstrates a deep understanding of message content and impact on the intended audience
  • Manage and oversee the technology budget in collaboration with Finance
  • Support and facilitate the planning process from an operational and staffing perspective
  • Serve as Engineering lead on strategic and organizational initiatives
  • Have formed ideas and recommendations for managing the full portfolio of projects
  • Make recommendations on improvements for cross business unit communication
  • Refresh our dashboards and metrics as needed
  • Support delivery planning and budgeting along with cross functional and business unit teams
  • Facilitate the process of defining release milestones and deliverable structure and content in partnership with Product Management and Engineering leadership
  • Facilitate executive roadmap reviews

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in a product / engineering, operations, or technical program management role.
  • Experience working with and/or leading technical strategy & direction
  • Exceptionally organized and experienced in communicating across multiple teams, geographies, and business units
  • Experience developing work plans and leading strategic initiatives. PMI preferred but not required.
  • Managing day to day interactions with executives and key stakeholders
  • Strong desire to keep learning new things
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint) and executive presence
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Experience building metric-driven dashboards in Google Data Studio, Jira, and engineering KPI systems
  • Strongly preferred experience working in a mature SaaS company with a portfolio of products
