Educational Technology Strategist

American Academy of Family Physicians - Leawood, Kansas - Full time

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position provides guidance and support to AAFP’s Continuing Medical Education Division (CMED) in designing materials and strategies that facilitate the integration of a variety of technologies into the instructional process. Duties include, but are not limited to, advising and supporting faculty and staff with technology-based learning projects consistent with best practices and instructional design principles and adult learning theory; identify and communicate opportunities for process and quality improvements, evaluating requests for technology-based learning projects and recommending technologies that match instructional objectives; engaging with IT to define the scope and business rules of projects; designing, developing, coordinating, and conducting instructional technology sessions and workshops that promote technology integration to enhance instruction; and informing staff and faculty members on best practices for online course design based on the best research, serving as course design consultant, and reviewing completed courses after development.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Master’s degree (preferred) in the area of educational technology, project management, and/or adult learning. (Equivalent experience in may be substituted for Master’s degree). In addition, applicants must have 4-6 years experience with Learning Management Systems and demonstrated experience in the development of technology-facilitated education, particularly interactive video-based activities for adult learners. The ability to integrate technology into AAFP CME and coordinate all aspects of other technology projects for the Continuing Medical Education Division in conjunction with the IT Division; Emotional Intelligence; Serve as EdTech representative on the project team/s; facilitate communication and interaction amongst team partners; Define and communicate educational technology needs for CME Division projects; Create tracking reports, resolves problems and ensures deadlines are achieved; Supports course development in the AAFP learning management system; Articulate 360 suite experience preferred.
