Educational Technologist

We're hiring for a newly created Educational Technologist position. This could be you if. . .

You are an inspired edtech professional who wants to bring the best learning technologies to higher education by working with faculty, learning designers, vendor-innovators, and IT experts.

You are ready to live and work in the blissful, outdoorsy, largely traffic-free, Amazon Prime-loving, farm-to-table, 30 minutes in any direction and you're out in the country, arts-embracing, mini-tropolis slice of heaven just 2.5 hours from Boston we call Hanover, New Hampshire.

But enough about you, how about us?

We are the Learning Design (LD) team at Dartmouth – passionate Learning Designers, Learning Analytics Specialists and now an Educational Technologist to spark and infuse high-impact teaching and learning at Dartmouth. We're highly collaborative, networked, pensive, sometimes techie, and not afraid to try new things (even when they don't work out).

What would an Educational Technologist do (you ask)?

Keep our edtech fresh, secure, sassy, and easy to use.

  • Pounce on any problems with our LMS (Canvas) and involving others in IT as needed.
  • Wrangle LMS user support with our tier-one partner (Canvas) and loop in the learning design team when a technology ask blossoms into a learning design question.
  • Kick the tires (real good) for any potential LMS tools and LMS production releases.
  • Make plans (on napkins, whiteboards, and project planning docs) for new integrations or technology proof of concepts and pilots.
  • Be the lead system administrator/analyst for our LTI apps and much of our technology stack (TechSmith, Wordpress, Campus Pack, and other technologies).

Keep Dartmouth on the cutting-edge of learning technology.

  • Be curious, research new educational technologies, and pitch us your ideas for pilots.
  • Write, record, or find the best explainer guides and contribute to a knowledge base.
  • Run workshops and consult with faculty to use technology in their teaching.

Connect and Collaborate with our partners

  • You'll be seeing and working a lot with the Learning Designers
  • Be the bridge - because Edtech and Classroom Tech shouldn't be stranded on separate islands. We have an awesome Class Tech group and we collab a lot.
  • Be the voice - consult with various committees/campus systems projects with an edtech component.

Pssst. In case you hadn't noticed, this isn't the official posting, but you can find it and apply here:
