Educational Sales Specialist

ABC-CLIO is looking for customer-focused professionals with a passion for education. The Educational Sales Specialist (ESS) position is responsible for growing our customer base within a defined territory. The ESS works closely with district and school leaders in their territory, helping them partner with ABC-CLIO to impact student learning.

Our sales team includes career sales professional and talented former educators who have successfully transitioned to education sales. Librarians, teachers, and administrators with no sales experience who are interested in the fast pace and financial reward that can come from a career in sales are encouraged to apply.

Educational Sales Specialist Responsibilities Include:

• Prospecting – Open new business opportunities through direct contact with districts and schools
• Needs Assessment – Identify customers’ needs and match them to ABC-CLIO products
• Product Presentations & Proposals – Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals
• Reporting – Track sales activity and opportunities, including maintaining accurate pipeline reports.
• Travel – Most account activity can be done virtually. However, the ESS should have flexibility to travel if needed for customer meetings as well as regional and national conferences.
• Market & Product Knowledge – Develop and maintain strong understanding of educational needs and trends and how ABC-CLIO and its competitors are positioned in the market.
