The Education Research Analyst is assigned to work at any of the DoDEA Americas, DoDEA Europe or DoDEA Pacific District Superintendent Offices. Please see the bottom for a list of locations we're hiring in.


  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets quantitative and qualitative data which involves researching and analyzing critical DoDEA education system problems by specific demographic groups.
  • Prepares statistical reports and analyses as needed and provides reliable and timely knowledge and accurate information base to enable DoDEA to make strategic decisions promoting the benefit of all students.
  • Manages large scale databases and maintains the databases for various projects in support of the district mission.
  • Evaluates system-wide projects/programs and provides technical expertise in the collection, analysis, interpretation, and application of essential information to assist the agency in meeting the demands of effective instruction and accountability.
  • Designs program evaluations; this involves researching and analyzing critical DoDEA education system problems.
  • Develops interview and focus group questions, surveys, and classroom observation protocols for program evaluations.
  • Advises other departments on evaluation design, extensive probing and analysis is required to determine the nature and scope of a problem before providing recommendations for improvement and efficiency within area of concern.
  • Reviews research proposals, prepares summaries, and makes recommendations through channels to the District Superintendent.
  • Assesses proposals for scientific merit, human subjects protections, and adherence to DoDEA's research policies.
  • Evaluates innovative practices in forward-thinking school systems in the United States for consideration by DoDEA.



  • Generalized experience is experience gained in teaching, educational research, development of educational materials and aids, educational testing, guidance counseling, educational administration, educational psychology, education policy, or comparable activities/positions, which has clearly demonstrated success in the application of principles, methods, and techniques of education and familiarity with current developments in PK-12 grade research, education and training.


  • This position requires at least 2 years of experience as a Researcher in an educational setting/environment. Experience may have been gained in either a PK-12 school or collegiate setting/environment.


  • A Master's degree in the field of Education or related fields such as: Public Policy (including Education Policy), Psychology (including Child, School and Developmental), Statistics, Anthropology, or Sociology. Degree must have included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in a field related to the work of the position to be filled (such as statistics, data collection, data analysis, data reporting, research methods, etc.), of which at least one course was in research methods and at least two courses were in statistics. All course work must have been completed at or accepted by a regionally accredited U.S. college or university.
