Education Demand Generation Manager

The Role

We are seeking an experienced education Demand Generation professional to help us start up and execute email and digital marketing campaigns in support of our growing business with schools and educational institutions. The Demand Generation Manager will work closely with our education team to identify and engage promising market segments and generate leads through e-mail campaigns, digital media, events and webinars to support our sales targets.

The ideal candidate will have prior B2B marketing experience in the K-12 education technology sector and a solid understanding of user/purchaser behavior and sales cycles within that market. He/she will have a proven track record of managing the full lifecycle of email campaigns to generate and nurture leads, from strategic message development, to execution and reporting on ROI. Importantly, this role requires a doer with the ability to create distinctive content and copy with ease and test different campaigns and cadences to reach our target customer audience.

What You’ll Do

  • Create integrated marketing campaigns to drive demand and sales opportunities, especially with educators, schools and school districts.
  • Plan, write and execute outbound email campaigns to drive engagement and lead generation using third party databases and internal Salesforce account lists.
  • Manage and use Mailchimp and Mixmax to build, test and send emails
  • Work closely with sales to inform them of trends and behavioral data within market segments and territories.
  • Develop and implement email nurturing strategies based on personas, geographies, demographics and/or other predictive intelligence with the ultimate goal of identifying new leads for future engagement and sales follow up.
  • Define and optimize key performance metrics across all channels in the digital marketing mix
  • Manage campaign budgets and report on performance
  • Maintain lead and contact database for accurate and complete data, ensuring new leads are properly uploaded, routed and segmented
  • Craft compelling narratives and work with designers and other team members to create engaging pieces of content, including but not limited to emails, webinars, infographics and blog posts
  • Be the subject matter expert when it comes to email marketing, lead lifecycle funnel and marketing automation.

The Skillset

  • 4+ yrs experience in marketing programs, campaigns, or demand gen role; prior experience with edtech or education market a strong plus
  • Superlative writing skills; experience writing both long and short form copy to help define and explain a product; demonstrated ability to condense complicated ideas into short, readable copy
  • Experience creating HTML emails with minimal edits required
  • High attention to detail with the ability to QA emails and campaign flows
  • Able to provide samples of prior digital marketing campaigns and writing samples
  • Experience with Salesforce.com for creating campaigns, segmenting and reporting
  • Hands-on experience in loading, testing, sending and tracking performance on emails through leading email systems such as Mailchimp
  • Prior experience working with leading marketing automation platforms (Hubspot, Pardot, or Marketo) a plus
  • Skillful at data imports and extracts and maintaining the integrity of customer lists and databases
  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter who identifies opportunities, comes up with great ideas and can overcome obstacles to get them produced
  • Bachelor’s degree required
