Unity is seeking a contractor to help build Unity’s education community programs and grow our education ecosystem. The role is focused both on supporting developers who are building immersive and interactive experiences for educational purposes (such as learning/training simulations across formal education and corporate use cases), as well as develop our growing classroom educator community globally. This person will help develop and implement an education community outreach strategy, working closely with Unity’s regional teams. This role reports to the Senior Education Program Manager and will collaborate across teams with the Unity marketing, business development, product, and evangelism teams.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • - Strategically identify and engage with companies that are creating educational or training experiences/apps/games to grow our education creator ecosystem. This includes companies that currently use Unity, and companies who do not currently use Unity but are potential customers.
  • - Work hand-in-hand with the Unity business development team on securing new customers, customer relationship management, and ensuring customer success.
  • - Create Unity packaged solutions that meet the needs of the learning and training developers.
  • Market these Unity product solutions to the learning and training developer community and help inform the market on what solutions we offer.
  • - Organize and execute marketing activities at relevant education/industry events, including identifying opportunities to highlight existing Unity creators in this space, and hosting regular events at Unity HQ or other venues.
  • - Help design and implement new education programs for educators and schools at the secondary and post-secondary levels globally.
  • - Conduct digital outreach, including creating and growing our education-specific communities on social media, and monthly blog posts about customer success stories, exciting work by educators, and our education product offerings.
  • - Identify and pursue strategic partnerships for education programs with other major organizations and companies.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • - Experience creating with Unity as an instructor, educator or education-focused developer.
  • Knowledge of the existing companies and organizations creating learning and training apps/games/simulations.
  • - Knowledge of emerging VR/AR/XR technologies.
  • - Experience working with educators or educational institutions, and students.
  • - Working knowledge of the education market.
  • - Excellent communication skills.
  • - Strong problem-solving ability.
  • - Proven experience nativating and coordinating groups within education institutions.
  • - Working knowledge of education market.
  • - Deep passion for enabling creators and building the future of education, XR, simulations, game development, and beyond.
  • - BA degree in a relevant field.
  • Bonus points:
    • - Strong knowledge of the Unity editor and experience as a Unity creator yourself.
    • - Prior experience as an educator who taught a relevant subject area such as game development or computer science.
    • Experience running Unity workshops or training.
