EdTech Business Development Manager

ChessKid - Palo Alto, California or Remote - Full time

This is a remote, full-time position. Our team of 12 people is from all around the world.

Responsibilities

ChessKid is entering the EdTech space - and you get a chance to lead the charge!

  • Conduct outreach efforts, both phone and in-person at key events. Establish relationships with schools and personnel, including teachers, buyers and IT administrators.
  • Identify opportunities for partnerships with organizations, including content distributors, social organizations, after school enrichment programs and tutoring organizations.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of leads and form lasting relationships
  • Plan and attend EdTech sales conferences in person. Physically set up and attend a booth, collecting leads and following up on customer and partnership opportunities. Travel approximately 20-30% of the time.
  • Learn and understand EdTech trends and be able to articulate those trends to our product team.
  • Handle an extremely diverse workload, whether it means conducting training, triaging problems to our support staff, articulating customer product needs, or drafting up contracts.
  • Ability to self manage from a remote work environment

Your Qualifications:

  • 2+ Sales, business development or related EdTech experience
  • 4-year degree is required

You’re independent, love interacting with people, and get great satisfaction out of closing deals. You’re amazing at building and maintaining relationships. You are tenacious. You’re great at communicating with people at all levels: kids, parents, educators, buyers. You see yourself getting excited about meeting people in the EdTech space and don’t traveling a bit. And while you may not love chess now, you can see yourself getting excited by its benefits and application in the EdTech world.
