The Special Assistant, Recruitment will join our thirteen person, highly collaborative recruitment team. This individual will be responsible for providing direct administrative support to our search team, performing tasks related to recruitment, including: scheduling requests; internal and external email communications; the creation and review of candidate- and client-facing materials; support for internal recruitment operations; and other special projects as assigned.

The ideal candidate has a high level of personal initiative, strong interpersonal and communications skills with a service mindset, an excellent focus on details, and effective problem solving skills. They will be excited by the opportunity to work closely with Edgility’s search leads and recruitment team while building their network with our clients and partners and learning more about our work to lead best-in-class, equitable and inclusive search engagements. This position is fully remote.


Key Responsibilities of the Special Assistant, Recruitment include:

  • Oversee meeting preparation and planning for search committee convenings and other client meetings while supporting Search Leads in managing interactions with relevant individuals;
  • Develop surveys, client presentation decks, proposals and other materials to support the recruitment process;
  • Attend client meetings as needed, taking detailed notes and sending follow-up email summaries to participants with action items, deadlines, and key takeaways;
  • Provide proofreading support, including drafting and reviewing emails, candidate- and client-facing materials, internal and external communications;
  • Lend thought partnership around project management improvements and ways of gaining organizational efficiencies.


A successful first year in this role for the new Special Assistant, Recruitment will include:

  • Production of consistently high-quality work products, including email communications, client presentations, external documents, and internal materials;
  • Integration into the existing Edgility team as a key administrative support leader;
  • An increase in the capacity of the executive team through a noticeable improvement in the recruitment team’s efficiency and effectiveness on a per project basis.


In order to fulfill these responsibilities, the ideal Special Assistant, Recruitment candidate will be:

  • A highly detail oriented professional with 2-3 years of work experience, preferably in a project management, communications or external relations function.
  • Meticulous, resourceful, and organized; able to balance strong project management skills with the ability to see the big picture industry trends and recommend process improvements when needed.
  • An excellent written communicator, able to build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, clients, candidates, and partners.
  • Culturally competent and self-reflective, someone who maintains a strong growth mindset and desire to learn and grow as a professional.
  • Highly skilled at managing up and anticipating needs from others in the firm, demonstrated ability to adjust to different work and communication styles.
  • Flexible and nimble; comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment with high accountability and low-to-moderate supervision;
  • Interested in mission-driven organizations, especially those serving children and families.


This position offers a competitive salary range of $50,000-60,000 and robust benefits including medical, dental, and retirement. More details can be provided upon request.
