Under the direction Associate Program Director in consultation with the Senior Vice President, Innovation, the Associate Program Consultant coaches and co-facilitates professional development to Pre-K and TK teachers, mentors/coaches and/or administrators. He/she may also mentor beginning or veteran teachers and/or school leaders. The Associate Program Consultant also co-consults on program implementation with clients where they are delivering professional development, and participates on work teams to design products and services for New Teacher Center (NTC). This role will focus on literacy and language development and instruction.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

The following is an overview of the duties and responsibilities assigned to this position. The employee may perform other duties as required.

Present and facilitate a variety of professional development to teachers, mentors and schools

Coach/mentor a team of teachers

Consult with NTC staff to support school district leaders and stakeholders with program implementation

Build relationships with clients on the ground

Participant on teams to design professional development products and services for current projects

Participate in collaborative NTC team meetings

May co-consult directly with grant project leads and/or program stakeholders on program implementation and plan development

Coordinate professional development events

Develop conference proposals and conduct conference presentations

Participate in relevant professional learning opportunities

Remain current with professional readings and research

Embrace NTC Theory of Action and spirit of collaboration and contribute to the ongoing improvement of New Teacher Center programs

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience in an early learning environment

Mentoring experience in NTC supported model or equivalent preferred

Prior experience in preschool/early learning

Must have teacher leader experience and/or responsibilities

Valid teaching and/or administrative certificate/licensure

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

General knowledge of Google Apps, Adobe Acrobat, virtual meeting software and experience with assessment data desirable

Demonstrate deep knowledge of professional teaching and/or administrative standards, content materials, assessment and methods that improve student achievement in core standard areas

Demonstrate foundational knowledge of Common Core standards

Ability to develop and write training materials, grants and reports

Ability to manage one’s time and productivity in a fluid, team oriented, work environment with a high level of initiative, creativity and flexibility

Demonstrate ability to develop strong relationships and work well within districts and NTC

Reflective practitioner demonstrating the ability to use feedback to improve self, program and community

Knowledge of school reform, professional learning communities and the impact of coaching on both entities desirable

Willingness to travel based on office location/client or project assignments

ADA Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Work normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Limited physical effort required
  • Requires a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm
  • Driving, grasping, hearing, repetitive hand motions, lifting under 50 pounds, pulling, pushing, reaching, sitting, talking, typing
