Director, Regional Marketing

The Director, Regional Marketing helps drive regional sales and strategy through direct partnership with sales teams to develop and lead regional campaigns and initiatives. The role must exhibit expertise in leadership skills with a strong ability to prioritize, problem-solve and customize campaigns for individual regions.

This position plays an integral role in strategizing for growth for each region while maintaining recurring regional revenue. This position serves as a “chief collaborator and driver” for the region, partnering with sales leaders to develop and execute regional campaigns with a cross-functional understanding of national campaign objectives; influencing where regional efforts align with national and where they differ. The role works collaboratively with Product Marketers to version materials for individual states and districts, and ensure campaign and product messaging is both accurate and compelling.

The Director, Regional Marketing leads a small team and works closely with Sales Enablement, Product Marketing, Events Marketing, and Content/Creative teams to support and develop regional campaigns. This person possesses analytical and strategic thinking that is matched by their data-driven prioritization, planning and project-management skills.

The impact you’ll have:

  • Partner with regional sales teams to identify specific regional marketing goals and objectives
  • Develop and manage a regional campaign functional plan and timeline
  • Understand regional curriculum needs and initiatives (i.e. state testing initiatives, funding initiatives, local alignments needs, etc.)
  • Understand regional sales targets (cross-sell, upsell, and expansion opportunities) and objectives (and align campaigns to support)
  • Understand regional revenue retention strategies (and align campaigns to support)
  • Attend/Support Regional Meetings and ongoing Regional Calls
  • Oversee and coordinate marketing needs for regions, including working with content and creative teams to prioritize customized collateral for regional needs (collateral production and versioning for specific state and local initiatives, regional activity briefs, invitations to regional events, email/digital marketing, webinars, regional website landing pages, etc)
  • Coordinate with regional events teams to plan targeted regional events strategy, including regional events, regional conferences, speaker sessions, dinners/lunches, thought leader session, users groups, site visits, etc)
  • Partner with Sales Enablement Team to provide additional training/supports (as needed)
  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop a small team of regional marketing specialists.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in regional campaign management or support (or similar function, such as field marketing, regional marketing, etc)
  • Proven project management and prioritization skills
  • Experience in working with sales and customer success leaders
  • Expertise in leveraging data and insights from regions to inform campaign strategy and decisions
  • Strong understanding of regional initiatives and needs
  • Collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in business software applications (such as Microsoft Office applications – PPT, Word, Excel, and Adobe, such as InDesign, Photoshop, etc)
  • A willingness to embrace change and adapt strategies as need

Travel: This position is expected to travel up to 25% for company national and regional meetings.
