TNTP seeks a full-time Director, Product Strategy to join the Learning Portal team within the Learning, Impact and Design (LID) Division. This position is based in a home office anywhere in the US and is available immediately. Limited travel a couple of times a year will be required for annual retreats and an organization-wide conference.

The Learning, Impact, and Design (LID) Division is dedicated to supporting TNTP to become a smarter learning organization, able to tell the story of our impact so that we can more effectively help students achieve their aspirations by increasing their access to teachers with high expectations, grade appropriate assignments, strong instruction and deep engagement. Within LID, the Learning Portal team designs, develops, delivers, and supports asynchronous and blended online learning experiences for internal and external clients. We ground our work in content that reflects TNTP’s perspectives and priorities, integrates authentic practice opportunities, and draws on best practices for adult learning.

What You’ll Do

As a Director, Product Strategy you will be responsible for leading the strategic design and development of TNTP's current and future Learning Portal product line(s). This Director leads the ongoing creation of learning and development products for adult learners in the K-12 sector, with a strong focus on online asynchronous learning models, learner and stakeholder feedback influencing the product roadmap, and driving for strong learner outcomes, particularly in hybrid and remote learning environments.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the implementation of the product strategy for a designated portfolio of online asynchronous learning and development products/services, supporting multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring that effective business strategies and goals (revenue, cost, availability) are met.
  • Developing the strategy and portfolio roadmap through deep understanding of market and customer needs, ensuring product iterations prioritize key features/developments based on market demand and TNTP’s organizational strategy.
  • Coordinating planning and activities across design and development teams, departmental leadership, sales/consulting and other internal teams and collaborates with key stakeholders to achieve product and organizational goals.
  • Developing and implementing plans to execute strategy, improving the position, performance, and economics of a product/service area.
  • Monitoring and improving sustainability of the overall strategy for a product area or line of service.
  • Identifying and tracking external research data supporting internal marketing and/or donor research initiatives.
  • Overseeing the work of designing, developing and implementing customer and/or product research studies, including polls, tracking surveys, and interviews for obtaining data to support the development and improvement of the organization's product strategy.
  • Analyzing and translating data and insights into product strategies.
  • May manage external vendors supporting research and development.
  • Generating new ideas for services, partnerships, and projects, including contributing to/writing proposals for new work in alignment with organizational and regional strategies.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to strategically manage multiple high-priority projects and/or clients.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in portfolio management, to include managing multiple project and team budgets
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leading/operationalizing product development for technology-based products; strong preference for ed-tech specific experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency leading research and translating data and insights into product/portfolio strategies
  • Excellent management skills, including experience effectively managing diverse teams in an entirely remote environment, building inclusive team culture and growing and developing staff to be successful in their work.
  • General business acumen and competence in leading collaborative teams to innovate

What We Offer

TNTP offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience in a similar position with the potential for an annual performance-based bonus. The salary range for this position is $93,600 - $140,400. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering the majority of the employee premium for the base medical plan and subsidizing the majority of costs for a spouse/domestic partner and children.
