About the Partnerships Team

BetterLesson’s Partnerships Team drives new business and expands existing district relationships. We’re an experienced and driven team of consultative sales professionals who innovate solution-selling. We collaborate closely as a team. When we close deals, it’s a win for BetterLesson, for us as individuals, and for the district that will advance student-centered teaching and learning.

About the Director of Partnerships Role

Directors of Partnerships are highly skilled at independently building pipeline in a territory, accelerating that pipeline to close, and achieving sales targets. Directors of Partnerships use a consultative approach to uncover district needs and then recommend product packages (1:1 coaching, workshops, and learning walks) to solve district problems and advance student-centered teaching and learning. Directors of Partnerships collaborate with marketing, product and services colleagues as needed to achieve goals.

You Must Be:

  • Passionate about impacting education communities in positive ways for educators and students alike, and excited to evangelize the best solution -- personalized, job embedded learning for educators to advance their student-centered practice.
  • Well-known for having a strong pipeline because you excel at: getting new business meetings, accelerating your pipeline, closing deals. You can articulate how you achieve this and have evidence of your strategies and success.
  • Able to stay laser focused on your priorities, plan your days around them, and avoid distractions.
  • Competitive, driven, and self-motivated to win.
  • A relationship builder who develops trusted partnerships with prospects and clients, and because of that they’ll readily take a meeting with you.
  • An empowered leader among peers, prospects and clients who creates solutions to problems and challenges.
  • Confident that you can add value when you engage with peers, prospects and clients while also always finding ways to learn from those around you.
  • Resourceful and energized by the opportunity to wear many hats and figure things out.
  • Adept at using technology to scale and streamline your work and collaborate with colleagues: Hubspot Sales Hub, Salesforce, Slack, G-suite, Confluence.

You Will:

  • Be accountable for a new business and expansion goal in a territory.
  • Create a territory plan to achieve your goal, execute the plan daily, and adjust as needed.
  • Share your progress weekly with the VP of Sales.
  • Use Hubspot Sales Hub and Salesforce on a daily basis to prospect and manage pipeline.
  • Drive new business: leverage your network, actively prospect, attend conferences, get referrals from partners, and other activities.
  • Lead discovery meetings with prospects: learn what teaching and learning problems they need to solve that BetterLesson can address.
  • Lead solution design: create a compelling package of BetterLesson products for each prospect.
  • Accelerate pipeline: actively drive your opportunities to close.
  • Expand relationships: continuously identify the next problems we can solve for our partners.

You Have:

  • At least three years selling professional learning to schools and districts, preferably in a territory where you’ve built strong relationships with schools and districts.
  • Ability to travel regularly for conferences and to meet with districts.
